Sapper School is hard. Less political is better. Let it be knowledge and physical based without biased. Lt’s today should know nothing. Nobody wears rank. Grow the NCO corps not just O’s. That’s a huge fowl.

I think the problems are not just people scared of joining the military man. If you think for a second. There are so many questions that people have about the military? Why should I defend a country / government that doesn’t give a sh@t about our veterans? Who are my real enemies? What am I protecting by deploying in the Middle East? Why there is a suicide epidemic in the military? The questions go on.

As a retired CW4 flight warrant, I'd like to make what is hopefully a slight correction. Non-chief Warrant officers may not know their jobs all that well. We're talking "spots" or WO1s. I don't know and have never known a single CW3+ who didn't know their job inside and out and their specialization inside and out. I was flying bitch with a CW4 in the Battle of Baghdad, and there was a Captain (our C.O.) who was told to go take a seat so the Colonel could talk to the CW4 about the battle situation. We know our jobs, I promise you.

When I entered the Army in 1968, my recruiter guided me to the Intelligence field. At that time, the intelligence analyst was designated 96B. When did it change? I carried the 96B as my primary until I retired as a MSG in 1990. Various assignments around the world from Corps level, NSA, Division G2 to instructor and project development at Ft Huachuca.

I know this is an older video, but just wanted to say for the sake of the viewers (and Dom) that that's a lot of vitamin C. 6000mg plus whatever is in the other two vitamins. Even taking two general vitamins probably isn't necessary and might not be recommended. Upper limit recommended for most adults is 2000mg according to Mayo clinic (though I'm sure that varies) and can lead to various side effects if taken in extreme excess. It's a water-soluble vitamin so it's very hard to have any major side effects from it, but it’s at least probably unnecessary in most cases. Vitamins are hard to overdue with general diet, but with supplements it is good to have some awareness (especially if it were fat-soluble). Not trying to criticize Dom, he may have specific reasons that I’m not aware of. Moral of the story is more isn’t always better with vitamin supplements

A nation founded on hate, opression, theft, rape, racism, salvery and and murder can not abandon the principles it was built on and still maintian power. Acccepting truth is a very hard thing to do because it requires letting the ego die which is very painful. I took me 44 years of lying to myself before I accepted what I had witnessed my entire life as reality.

One thing that is missing is establishing extra incentives, that is giving awards (commendations, ribbons, time off, bonus pay, etc.) for those who do meet their goals or those who perform best.

You will be fine brother. I just finished 18 months of command last year. I was in familiar territory of knowing nothing or having previous experience about the formation I was going to command as well. I took a Signal Company as an Engineer. I had to lean on the subject matter experts for atleast the first 6-8 months before I really had the confidence in the job. The majority of the worries you have are common and good because that shows you care about doing a good job. My few tips for you to be successful. 1.) Remain humble always and don’t be afraid to fail. 2.)Don’t plan in a bubble. Just because you’re the commander doesn’t mean you will always make the best or most efficient decision in every situation but if you create buy in from subordinates together you will be surprised in the outcome and results. 3.) Seek counseling from your 1SG often. If you have a good one they will always square you away and protect you. I was lucky enough to have two outstanding 1SG that always pointed me in the right direction with their candid feedback in decisions I had to make. 4.) Enjoy the Soldiers, NCOs, and LTs you have the opportunity to serve with. The bonds you will have will be invaluable. Unfortunately, this position you can’t do forever so soak it all in as much as possible. I miss that part of the job daily. 5.) You have a lot of influence on your organization that can be either negative or positive so keep that in mind when you have to make hard decisions even if they are necessary. They are a reflection of you and your 1SG. Y’all set the tone. Stay on the same page, your Soldiers will notice immediately when the two of you don’t get along and that impacts the organization. If you bump heads discuss it in private, never in front of the Soldiers. All in all they are probably many more tips but you will be fine. Just know this will be the most challenging and stressful but rewarding assignment you have done so far.
