In my province in Canada we get deposit money back on all beverage containers so I am not going to work with this particular material but will definitely use for many of that other packaging. I create my own fabric paper for junk journal hinges using masking tape. When I use masking tape in projects just to hold glued parts temporarily, once all is dry, instead of throwing used tape away I stick the pieces to the back of a fabric piece. Then I glue that fabric with taky glue to cardstock easily. But I will make a point to check op shops for that double-sided carpet tape for sure. And I love paper + fabric combination a lot. Recently I started gluing strips of paper with quotes on strips of fabric with frayed edges and those look so cozy and good! I want to make a whole JJ with page edges done this way. Better than lace and super cheap!

Now I’m going to have to figure out how to figure out how to clean and save these without my hubby knowing I’m saving one more thing 😂😂😂😊. Great projects TFS

Lol lol! A woman after my own heart... My hubby and I have a standing joke - I often pick things up (completely un-art-related and often rubbish) and say, "I wonder if I could make art out of this?" He answers with a resounding "NO!!" which I take as a challenge - I make art out of it to prove him wrong! He thinks I'm nuts. I can't look at anything now without wondering how I could use it and I have a whole box full of tissue boxes, any packaging with windows in it, or interesting flaps, etc. Easter egg packaging can be interesting and full of potential, too. And don't get me going on tea bags - I have two large boxes full of them! One of my favourite recycling ideas is the accordion-folded leaflets that come with my medication. Before unfolding them, I punch holes in them with my Crop-a-Dile and then unfold them - you get a gorgeous semi-organised, semi-random pattern of holes. Spray through them as stencils - you get 2 great papers for the price of one (free, actually!) and they are great on the gel plate, too. The printing on them just adds texture. Fabulous collage fodder.

Love the journal the best. I've been saving my cartons for ages, lol. I soak them and pull apart, and put in the food processor with junk mail/newspaper to make paper. The silver lining adds bits of sparkle to the new paper, and the clear-ish plastic part of the carton lets light through the paper when held to the light, such fun!! Great ideas!!!
