TCF 201 Assignment: Portrait of a Place

This was shot in Fall 2012. The point of the assignment was just to get at least a certain number of shots of a location of our choosing, just to sort of build a feeling for that place. We got extra points at the end of the semester for actually editing those shots together into a short, so I did. I kept this unlisted because I didn't want to ruin the surprise just in case we decided to use this location in Marble Hornets. Obviously we didn't, so here it is.

I feel like that in Marble Hornets, this is where Jay went after he died. Free from the Operator and all other dangers in his past life. He can finally relax.

It's been a while since you uploaded something. And that would of been a great place for Marble Hornets. Care to explain this video in more detail? Why Troy is even there? What he's looking for, if anything? Why the choice in music?

This is really beautiful. The music gives it a kind of sad feel, which really suits the abandoned nature of the place. I love the sounds kept of the fence at the beginning. I would have liked to hear some crunching gravel at some point, just because that's the kind of satisfying sound I associate with this kind of place, but that's one of the only things I felt disappointed about. Your transitions are very nice, not jarring. This is really good work! Sorry that it took me a year after the fact to see it!
