The MILO Range: A Virtual Firearm Training Experience

The MILO system provides instructors with the ability to test individuals and groups through interactive simulations including classroom-based lessons and physical hands-on firearm training for use-of-force exercises. MILO Range systems are employed in more than 40 nations serving thousands of public safety and military agencies with its specially designed interactive environments.
The MILO Range Theater 300 system and control station allows for scenario manipulation projected on five laser screens. The addition of high definition surround further enhances the training experience obtained from the realistic artificial environment.
The wrap-around field of view the Theater 300 system offers, enhances realism of the trainees engaged in true-to-life scenarios. Duty-quality firearms and less-lethal devices use laser technology that, combined with MILO Range's brilliant theatrics, allows instructors and agencies to train and test subjects. Our company is an importer of Small Arms Training Simulators for police and military use here in Saudi Arabia. I am a technician. I have seen and got my hands on many of these Virtual Simulators and I can say nothing beats the SAVIT System made by SAAB Czech Republic.

2:16 Seems like a lapse of judgement and lack of knowledge on the current generation to have targets as green and non-targets as red. I understand the mentality: green means “ok to shoot” and red “don’t shoot” as a green light/red light; go or stop mentality. Yet everyone who’s ever played a video game, simulation, which is exactly what this Use of Force Simulator is, knows that allies are always represented as green or blue, and enemies as red. Non combatants may be the same as allies or another neutral color. This is important because this simulation was likely made by men experienced in programming and other men who have training “in the field” using real weapons and going on real operations. Those two sets of people came together to make this training simulation. However the people who will one day use this simulation grew up playing games and civilian market simulations. Even simulators developed by the military and used by military denote allies and enemies properly as green/blue (BLUFOR) and red (OPFOR [opposing force]). If a future lawman operator is using this simulation instead of being in the field, perhaps they’ve already spent a lot of time indoors. Minor but food for thought nonetheless.
