The Apple monitor is not for just home use. It’s for REAL professionals like movie editors and graphic designers for sets. The dell monitor is JUST 8k. It doesn’t support a wide color gamut and doesn’t have 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The Apple monitor is expensive for a reason. It’s comparable to true grade professionals monitors for color testing and sampling that can cost up to $30,000. The dell one is just a monitor with A LOT of pixels. ...however the stand shouldn’t be fucking sold separately for a grand.

I'm watching in 1080p on my tv. About the video: it's pointless to get a 8k screen to zoom in to 8k images. The idea is that you can see the whole 8k image on the screen at once, not that you can zoom in(of course you can if you want to). For example I can open the same image on my 720p monitor and zoom in and be able to see just as much detail as you did. What you just explored are the capabilities of the 8k camera, not the display

Like if you agree to this: If you are going to zoom in to the image, that really isn't testing the display. You are pretty much showing how good the image resolution is. Yes, 8K has better resolution and that's not Jordan's point. Jordan's point is, digitally zooming in on a picture doesn't prove how good a monitors is because you can do that on any monitor resolution. Zooming in to see more detail (like the windows on a building) is only proving how good the image quality/resolution is. Anyway, good job at being mean to people.

if the screen is 8k, and the image is 8k, BUT people are viewing it in 480p-4k then zooming in actually does provide a sense of scale, e.g. when hes zoomed in on the windows in the LA scene, then he zooms out, he can still see all that fine detail when its not zoomed in but we cant cause of lower resolution, so showing it to us zoomed in, is an artificial way of zooming in on the screen for us (providing that he actually is able to see those tiny details as clearly as we do, when accounting for him seeing it at 8k and us seeing it at like 1k with the zoom)

The thing is, the other technologies arent that far for the normal consumer to actually support all that. 8k is all dandy and fine, but the average systems cant even support 4k at high settings for 144 frames (144hz is pretty standart at the moment for gaming). I´ll take more frames over higher resolution for the moment. 60 frames are just too slow for me. 4k at high settings with a ultrawide (31" or higher) monitor on 144hz with gsync would be my dream, but thats so out of reach.

Resolution isn't everything... If the pixel density is still lower at the same viewing distance then it's not necessarily better. However, higher resolution allows for higher pixel density on larger displays, which is great. Technically we have better detail on our phones that commonly have greater than 500ppi

You can zoom in on image and look details on any monitor. the image will look best on this monitor when completely zoomed out.
