This is the closest I've ever seen a phone to get and launch from start showing the full capabilities of what a phone might be able to do, without any excuses or hidden crap that makes you wonder if there's compability for HDMI via USB C and stuff like that. It's been a dream of mine since my first smartphone purchase actually. For years now we had smartphones that could be used as simple desktops, as portable gaming devices, as something more than a standard smartphone, on specs alone. They have enough power to do it, but they don't because brands and manufacturers never push this way, either because of fears of cannibalization, or because they just don't know how to begin. We might not have the proper apps to work well in different scenarios, but it's exactly because we don't have smartphones that look and do the part. It'll happen once we have proper devices that can work like this, because devs will start considering the idea. So I hope Asus keeps insisting on this, even though it's extremely hard for these types of accessories to sell in the first place. So all the power to them. And thanks to Razer too, because they kinda started this trend. I'm hoping this is finally the beginning of an useful trend I can get behind instead of cosmetic crap like noches, bezel less blah blah, and other stuff that quite frankly doesn't matter the least bit for me personally. I couldn't care less about all this shit that has been coming out in recent years. But if I can get a smartphone that has the potential to act as a separate laptop, tablet, external speakers, portable gaming device, plus a few other stuff, enabling me to carry one device instead of a handful, that's the way I'm going. I don't even care much for the gamer aesthetics to be honest. But multiple ports, a docking station and the Switch style gamepads? By themselves this could already replace for me a set top box, portable gaming device that could be used as console at least for emulators, a barebones computer on the go, presenter device, plus some other stuff. It's something that we should've been able to do with smartphones for a long time now. To a point, the Switch only exists because smartphone devices failed to get there. It even uses internal components of an Android device. Congratulations Asus, I hope you keep investing and keep insisting on this.

Oled 90hz display, 1ms response time 1080p. Over clocked snapdragon 845, 8 GB ram 128/512 GB storage. 4000 mAh battery, fast charge, headphone jack and dual front facing speakers that are loud af. It sounds like it would be an amazing phone ignoring all of the gaming aspects, only issue is the odd fingerprint scanner placement, probably mediocre camera and the overly gaming aesthetics. This probably isn't really purchasable considering it will most likely be priced well over 1000$ but I'm really liking the direction gaming phones are going. I see them surpassing galaxies in the near future. In fact this is already better than the s9 ignoring the design gripes I have.

First amoled display with a 90 hz refresh rate on phones, front facing speaker, headphone jack, usb c fast charging, fingerprint scanner. The latest specs over clocked is a bonus only issue is the phone screams gaming and the cameras look to be mid ranged, and who TF would buy a GTX 1080 in 2018. Have you seen gpu prices, and games are not only about graphical prowess look at the switch .

I think one camera is an 8mp wide angle and the other next to it is 12mp which is decent. The gaming aesthetic looks really good despite the fact if I were to buy the phone I would probably not use it for gaming lol. Seems like a great phone for movies and multitasking with the available accessories. (I often watch youtube while browsing the internet or typing with mates and to have that on two separate screens instead of a screen split in half like on the Samsung phones is great). Heck maybe even for work its good.
