Jazzu work for work’s sake I don’t believe is the answer. It needs to be in service of some sort of unifying purpose. Now, that purpose may change over time as you gain more clarity on who you are and what you stand for but nevertheless there needs to be an internal anchor there that either quietly or loudly communicates “this is it. This is moving toward what I stand for. This will bring me in some way toward what I’m meant to be doing”. Hope this helps. - Scott

Cuban's comment about working like someone is going to take it (your goal, objective, what have you) is very truthful. I really appreciate this topic, Evan. I am not sure if it was because I am a female or not, but in my family of origin, I was not given this hard-core work ethic teaching growing up and I find I admire and respect the people in whom I see this type of work ethic. I look forward to incorporating some of the ideas I gleaned from this video. For me specifically, the getting up early, no matter how badly I don't want to do so, is probably the single most needed change, at least the first change, that I need to make, and several speakers mentioned it. I was usually allowed to let my feelings dictate my actions, and I have not always been as diligent as I would have liked. That is about to change. This is a very timely message for me. Thank you.

I just love how much work ethic can change your life.

Being young in today's world is tough, contrary to belief, we do live in the best of times, living better than kings. But the world is so full of distractions, indulgences, we have become so extravagant in working towards something. Our youth-culture is full of self gratification and indulging, with so much entertainment and distractions it's almost as if we don't know the meaning of hard work, we simply take the path of least resistance. I'm not saying this is wrong, but for most of you watching this video, like me, you want a purpose and want to be fulfilled, you admire the people who work hard and master a craft. Don't let the bullshit blind you.

Dub Yuh Currently pulling myself out of that culture. It’s insane reflecting upon myself and recognizing such habits as always wanting instant gratification via social media. It shaped me completely. And now I’m having to essentially rewire my own thinking, completely detach and realize what real work ethic and motivation is like. Was very much engulfed in my own ego.

I saved this video on my watch later before i went to bed last night, then overslept four hours. I hope to be like one of the people in this video once i conquer that habit. It's the worst one i have, and i realize now how much it has taken from my life! Thank you for putting all these impressive people together in a video!!

What resonated with me was when you said that you believe that "entrepreneurs are going to solve all of the world's problems.", that's a real good point right there. Also during this video I decided that it's good to work as hard as you actually can all the time, and when you're stuck you can just do some exercise, and when you're too physically exhausted to exercise you can just meditate, and by the time you're done with that you're reenergized enough to work again, and if you're not you just work anyway. :)

Do you know how minuscule 2500 years is compared to eternity. A lot of delusional twats here.
@denishuli64204 жыл бұрын
ChiefChimp why are you taking it so literal? It’s a figure of speech. The blood, sweat, and tears poured in their work regardless if they are successful or not is put out in the universe during their lifetime. Their dedication and work ethic is ever lasting even after someone dies. Of course it won’t last for “eternity” but it sounds better than “2500 years”.

I'm actually new to this mindset of hard work and success. I heard of it but I never really applied it to my life. I was superficial when dealing with work and life because I never knew such a life is possible. Now I want to see more of these fascinating people like McGregor, Marc Cuban, Conan O'Brien, Lord Alan Sugar or Evan Carmichael working hard to make a career or to change the world. I want to be like them. I want to work very hard to solve some huge problem. I want to change and be the best version of myself.

I liked the way Jennifer Lawrence said she had worked hard to get to where she was and doesn't plan on slowing down. Also, I agreed with G. Eazy's advice that if you put in enough work on anything, you can only get better at it. But, he should understand that we can make a difference in the things we do without being different.

I am new to all of this. I was just wondering if there were any books you recommend on work ethic and being driven? I am a youth guidance counselor so I am not looking for a book on business or how to become rich. I just want some tips and insights that will inspire me to keep me on task and making a greater contribution. Thanks for your assistance.
@MDWhite-qg6yb7 жыл бұрын
ohsnap31 I would recommend Brian Tracy's eat the frog. The main idea of the book is to do the most difficult tasks everyday. He says this contributes to a great work ethic and list some examples of people and strategies. I hope this helps.
@MDWhite-qg6yb7 жыл бұрын
I also recommend the 10x rule by grant cardone. Although he does talk about money, the main idea is to multiply your goals and efforts by 10 times to achieve a ridiculously sick work ethic.
@ohsnap317 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I will purchase it.
