Making [bedrock] viable for long term might also mean cleaning up the code base to make it easier to add stuff. Looking ahead when coding generally speaking means that you have a modular approach: you make a thing and then you take the thing apart so that each piece of that thing can be used/referenced separately for new things later on so you don't have to start from scratch every time you add something. But that's just my hope because it's rough trying to make addons for bedrock right now.

I've noticed they've been on it more than ever for tools for creators. That also means it'll be easier to make updates if they can use the game as the engine rather than having to code it in java first. Also, allows creators to do more creating.

@@dr_poutinewhy would they listen to you MORE. They already canceled the mob votes. Do you just know how to code? Have you ever worked on someone else’s code? Have you really not been able to deduce how the process works over there? The current trend at Minecraft HQ is to add the backend code that allows the game to be more easily added to, bug fixed, and modded, going forward. What do ANY of those things you mentioned do for the grand scope of Minecraft? Nothing. Silly additions that don’t do a darn thing for the overall game. We are more likely to get offhand, or a new mechanic, as those things ACTUALLY make difference. No no, let’s have the bandwidth get dedicated to one of the most rare biomes in the overworld. That’s like complaining that not enough time was spent on the trail ruin layout or loot. Absolutely pointless looking back with hindsight. Try being less entitled, and more positive, about the FREE CONSTANT updates for a game that has been out since before you were born. ;)

I think timeline wise we'll have the next major update around our usual time with minor drops happening throughout the year. I still think them splitting Minecraft Live in two makes it feel a bit cheapened. I stopped watching the monthlies long ago and Live was special because it was only once a year.

So there’s experiments, drops, major updates, betas, snapshots, previews, and it’s usually different betrween bedrock and Java with different features sometimes (bedrock hardcore) and different names/numbers. And then there’s the Minecraft movie and 2 Minecraft lives and each one is prerecorded and very short. What the heck I’m confused 😂😂😂

You are overcomplicating it. Minecraft has snapshots every update, no matter whether its a drop or snapshot, betas/previews are somewhat similar from what I understand, major updates are just big updates like 1.20, 1.21, 1.22, etc. and themed drops are for example 1.20.5 with Armored Paws update, where you have specific things added like: armadillos, armadillos drop shells when u use scissors on them and u can create wolf armour with those shells. TL;DR themed updates are concentrating on a specific thing and unlike "Wild update" where u had a new wood type AND warden and Ancient City, they focus on a certain type of thing like armadillos and how to make them usable. There. Oh and experiments are features that you can test on Minecraft while creating the world but they are not added to regular versions until Mojang is happy with the outcome (probably)

Waddles, you. . . didn't count your months right. November, December, January, Febuary, March. That's 5 months buddy, not six. April would be six. You accidently counted your start month and your end month. Which is like if you were counting months but started at zero: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. See how there is 6 numbers there? You don't count your starting point ("zero"). Meaning the next minecraft live would be around the same time as the next drop is due. Which makes sense to be.

My ideal updates are a birch forest update, seasons, or farming update. ❤️🩷❤️ The birch forest is really boring, and as a fan of the wood type, I would LOVE to see the biome really get a chance to shine. Seasons, need I say more..? And I’ve always been an homebody, even in Minecraft, so I’d love to see an expansion on farming. 😁 To have more crops and gameplay related to that side of the game. 🫶🏼
