I love the dichotomy between something like the OG Dweller and the Manbear. Both are great, but the differences are immense. The Dweller stalks you and runs away, but at the end of the day its not an "intelligent" creature, just smarter than most. Its just a hunanoid beast whos rocky home you're encroaching on. At the end of the day it just wants you gone, and once you are thats the end of it. It doesn't hold any particular malice toward you, it just sees you as a threat as a new apex on the block and thus wants to dispatch of you asap. Its stalking is more akin to a tiger's than a human's. The Manbear is the opposite. Likely a lycanthrope or even a skinwalker, and its actions show it. Its smarter, slower, more deliberate, every action an extent of its malice. Its not content with just driving you away, it breaks blocks, strips your logs, watches just out of sight or even just outside your window, it even mimics your voice just to taunt you. It doesn't just want you dead, it wants to toy with you before you are. And despite its appearance, its actions are undeniably human. The Dweller is like a primal force, a species thats been living in those caves for centuries and doesn't take kindly to the new invader. The caves simply aren't big enough for the two of you. The Manbear is malevolence incarnate. No matter where you are, it'll find you. You're its prey, and not one its content with losing. Its dedicated every fiber of its being to making you suffer, and it enjoys every second of it.

To make it even better, maybe add some subtle signs of the Manbear's presence before he appears to rack up the tension. Finding dead wildlife, scratched up trees, destroyed villages, that sort of thing. Having your own base affected by the Manbear like your crops, livestock or light sources mysteriously disappearing could be good too.

I saw someone make this suggestion under the last video but it's such a good one I really wish you'd add it into the mod. Manbear should slowly hunt all the animals from around the place you're staying at, making you slowly starve to death, and if you move to a new location? after a bit he follows you and the cycle repeats. Same thing could happen with any farms too, maybe if you're away he would break them preventing you from completely ignoring the fact of no animals being around anymore. Also someone mentioned how all wild life should go quiet whenever he's around, same as in real life when there's a big predator nearby.

I think a really cool addition to the Manbear would be if randomly, mobs you care for go missing. Like if you have a villager trading spot in your base, and then one day some of them are just gone. Or if you have a pen of cows, but sometimes they just disappear when you're not looking. For the sound mimicry factor (unless I just missed this in previous vids) it would be very cool if the ambient sounds of the forest, such as birds chirping, mob sounds, etc. were also replicated like the player's voice. Especially since most people playing singleplayer won't be set up to record, let alone speak aloud while playing. I also can't remember if it was an actual feature for the ambient sounds to stop when the manbear is nearby, but having that happen, in addition to the replication, would make the manbear's mimicry all that much scarier. Trying to lure you out into the forest with the hope of finding a sheep or rabbit, even the sound of your own dog barking, hoping you won't notice the dead silence until it's too late...

Your terror was so genuine at the end, it made me wish I could help you. Thank god it's just a game. Anyway, it makes me feel like bringing up the berserker fear response. While you may have heard about the 'flight or fight' instinct, the berserker instinct takes the fight response to its extreme, to the point where the person is so gripped with fear that they black out, only to awake with the threat dead at their feet, and their hands covered in its blood. Considering new findings regarding the 'split brain', and a condition known as 'alien hand syndrome', where someone's hand could act involuntarily, it makes me wonder: Is there also a monster inside of us? I suppose if there is, we can rest easy knowing it's on our side...most of the time. In your case at the end, it granted you extreme block parkour skills, lol. Anyway, I think the mod is a success. This is no cheap set of jumpscares. However, as a builder, I hope stonebrick will be enough to keep it out, or at least obsidian.

Things that you should've done: Dig down when running from the Freddy Fastbear or Tower Up using your Blocks. Place Torches on the Nearby Trees. Use Deepslates as your material when building your house. Elevate your House higher so that you have a higher ground when looking for the Manbear. Expand and move your base to the higher parts of the biome. Set Traps that could slow down the Manbear Find a nearby village Upgrade your Armor

Seeing the man bear just full sprinting out from the fog was terrifying. It made me jump from my seat. Something that could add a haunting/terror factor in my opinion would give it some long distance to short rang calls. (Example being wendigo noises for long range, or blood curdling screams for short rang) to add to its list of sounds aside from mimicking your voice. Or finding strung up animals around/on your base that was killed by the Manbear.

Idea: Pillagers team up with and defend the villagers while the villagers hide from the Manbear, as the Manbear would be a bit of a “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” type of deal I’d imagine. The pillagers that are defending the villagers would attempt to scare the Manbear off using their crossbows and ravagers, and there’d be different outcomes once the “battle” ends. The pillagers probably would use their pillager watchtowers to spot the Manbear and probably as an archer tower of sorts. Just a very random idea that popped into my head. (feel free to share any thoughts or stuff, idk)

Hey, this mod is absolutely amazing, but what's more important are the feelings that the mod causes. At the beggining you feel scared and watched, terrified with a pint of defensive mechanism inside you - but later as the Manbear stalking and behaviour progresses you feel like prey, as if you are hunted and the natural instinct starts to kick in. It's somethinh unique that other mods couldn't awake inside me.

bro, you need to build a high watchtower ASAP! that way you will be able to oversee your area, attack him with a bow or something if you see him and you will know that the only way for him to attack you will be by the entrance so if he makes some advance it will be by there (and that entrance you should obviously make super protected, I think this episode was a clear indication that now protection is mandatory and your hut ain't gonna sustain further attacks). I think that way you will be more protected and will have more time to do more stuff in your area

One thing I really like about this mod is something I love about a lot of psychological horror games, how it turns the human mind against you. As you keep saying, there is a very real chance there is nothing around you, you are safe, but you don't feel that way. You're anxious, worried. You installed the mod, you know something can and will go down, you just don't know when, or if the attack is fake or not. That's something I dislike about many horror Minecraft mods, the tension and build up is there, but the creatures attack so much and in the same eays that the subtlety and build ups tend to be miniscule, which really help the horror genre. I would also say that when it comes out, make the voice mimicking configurable, it would just ruin the subtly in single player when you don't have friends sround for it to also mimic.
