This is a re-release of this video. The first copy was corrupted on KZbin. Not sure what happened.

I love this video. Thanks Tony. What a great technique starting at 12:20 in your video. A great way to cut down a lot of trees safely. I would prefer having a tractor with a cab on it for this kind of work. Too much danger with dead trees and their higher up branches possibly coming down on tractor when the boom is shaking the tree.

Got ours mounted yesterday afternoon (finally) and played with it for just a few minutes before dark. I mounted it on the XR4145 but I'm going to move it to the TYM574, extend the boom, and swap the grapple from the TYM to the XR. Having the two tractors set up this way should really speed up the work flow. I'll make a video after I get the hang of using it and will definitely mention your channel! Thanks for posting.

Bummer to have to re-release. As I commented the first time, that extra remote electronic hydraulic diverter function is brilliant! Nice job. -Ed

KZbin corrupted the first file. This will hurt for now but hopefully the video will pick up.

It would be much nicer if the boom were on a hydraulic so that you could extend it in and out as needed. It seems to be a heavy implement to push in and out manually to extend. But, not sure how often you would need to do that. I suppose you could plan it so that you first have the boom in to cut the small trees on the ground. Then, once the base of larger trees are accessible, manually extend the boom to cut the higher up branches. How about a camera option to put by the blade so you can see where the blade is from your seat? Great video Tony.

All your ideas sound reasonable; however, every pound added to the equipment makes the cutter less effective. This one is meant for tractors. They make a bigger one with all the features you mentioned minus the camera. It's intended for large tractors and skid steers. The camera would last about 10 seconds.

I only have 1.5 acres but stuff like this and driveway maintenance are why I need a tractor.

This would be hard to justify for one or two jobs, but the trees keep growing.👍

@@TonysTractorAdventure Driveway maintenance needs to happen every three month. And saplings I have so many would be quite a job with a bladed string trimmer or chainsaw. Plus would be great for keeping them cut back. I'm on a hill so ground leveling/shaping would be a huge plus. Given the size of my place I am just looking at smaller tractors. 25 hp maybe. Would consider smaller but I'm afraid of the slope of the land
@TonysTractorAdventure2 жыл бұрын
I will not use the mini clip on a smaller tractor. It is a bit much for the whole tractor. The T474 is about perfect.

It can reach however high your tractor can plus the implements. Some people use them on Extendable boom fort lifts.

Hi there Tony, how are you? First time watching you're channel, I was looking for a tree branch cutter & that's how I found you on this video. Anyway, here's the deal. I've got a 2002 JD x595, Yanmar 24 hp. Attachments, thus far: 🌨️ Snowblower 🌨️, 54" blade, mower deck w/triple bagger (which I now never use, blows belts), fertilizer spreader & JD 1500 Cart. Next attachment will be a grapple from Innovative Tractor Attachments LLC; REALLY looking forward to getting this, long overdue. I'm on a 10 acre + piece of property; 25 miles west of Boston. The lawn I cut is about 1.5 acres. Branches seem to get lower & longer each year, surrounding the lawn. So yeah, yes I can call the "tree guy" and negotiate a $1,500.00 a day price for him to come in for the day & give ALL of the trees with long low hanging branches; a "HAIRCUT". Now, this opens up a truck load of questions & dilemmas. First & foremost, does this company make a branch cutter for a sub compact 🚜 (24 hp)? If so, how much? Thirdly, I'm NOT electrically or mechanically inclined; anything more than changing a light bulb or adding oil or antifreeze, I call the dealer!,,,,,,,😅 😂 🤣. Trust me when I tell you; they absolutely 💕 me! If a branch cutter from this company, for a JD x595 exist; I guess I have to weigh cost of the attachment vs how often these trees need a $1,500.00 (for the day) "haircut"? I'm figuring, inside of a decade; the tree guy will make a grand appearance 3 - 4 times. At 4x, that would be $6,000.00 over a 10 year time frame. So, what do you think?
@TonysTractorAdventure2 жыл бұрын
They don't make one to fit your size tractor. They stick out a good ways on the front and would most likely make your tractor unstable. I am not knocking your tractor, but it is just a matter of physics. The mini clip will require a third function, but other than that, it is self contained. The cost is a bit over 6k also. I am not sure of current cost.
