As a model builder, i can appreciate the dedication of time & effort it took to put out that level of detail.

One of the animators on this made fan stop motion animation videos for a Let's Player I watch, many years ago. To see him having gone from that to working on this was incredible. Stop motion has long been one of my favourite art forms, and this movie was phenomenal.

Been putting off seeing the movie, glad I did! It’ll be even more captivating knowing more accurately what actually went into making it 😊

Seen the movie 3 times and I never even noticed the "trophy" heads of Volpe's past monkeys in his office. Damn, that's dark.

As an amateur animator, it’s amazing to see that even the pros use full reference videos for each character! I thought I was cheating this entire time but it makes so much sense to do

What I really want to know is what happens to all of these models from stop motion to all of the sci-fi and fantasy models, set designs, costumes, art (all the way from rough sketches, concepts, mockups, final pieces, I mean there's way too much). I have been involved in entertainment production and the gems vanish. I know stuff ends up being auctioned or in a long forgotten warehouse or basement.

I didn't actually like the film that much, as in the storyline and script of it as I think it could have been done a bit better. However, I fully appreciate the artistic talent that went into making it. I am a huge animation fan and have been since I saw W&G in the early 90's. The detail that went into this film was astounding and learning about how they did the rotoscoping style in a modern way is truly amazing! It takes so long and needs so much patience and understanding, but I bet it's also great fun and so rewarding. I wish I had an artistic bone in my body as this is something I would have loved to have got into

If the animators had acted out the moves outdoors they could have dispensed with the masks.

Surprised how many male characters were pantomimed by female animators. You'd think the body mechanics would be too different to get accurate movement.

I am surprised they still use puppets. The cost of filming over time. With avatars being more advanced every day. How long before puppets are a thing of the past.
