I have been following this product for a while, I guess the reason why they feel they can charge so much is due to the fact that they know there is nothing like it in the market. However the boox palma would have killed the project before it was even born if they would have decided to include a sim tray. I am can sense the aprehensiveness in the online community and not necessarily because of the delays, seems like people believe there is something fishy about the project probably based on communication and transparency issues. Now that shipping started we will be able to see independent reviews and then based on that we will decide whether this phone is worth what they ask for it.

I guess as i pointed out in the video, the reason i don't like this pricing is that you really don't have any history to justify a mid range almost premium price for a device that doesn't even rock low budged components. You can even compare it to an Unihertz which you can buy for 300 bucks and it's rugged. This product is like the Rabbit AI assistant trying to rob people which cheap plastics...

Это очень тяжелый, толстый, неудобный, с плохой подсветкой, неудобным расположением программных клавиш, с плохой камерой, регулярно зависающий при малой нагрузке, телефон. Я не жалею, что купил его, потому что мой старый Key2 решил сломаться (у него полностью отказала клавиатура). Да, Unihertz Titan Slim был дешевле Minimal Phone в 2 раза. Но второй раз я бы не решился скорее всего купить Unihertz, даже несмотря на то, что я не могу жить без физической клавиатуры. В нём ОЧЕНЬ много минусов и его единственным плюсом является цена.

Я думаю, что цена оправдана, поскольку это малотиражное устройство, крайне нишевое, на крайне своеобразном пересечении тех, кому нужна физическая клавиатура + e-ink дисплей. Малые тиражи всегда стоят дороже, чем тиражи большие. Думаю, конечно, что себестоимость устройства не так уж высока с учетом всех характеристик, но это не устройство, собранное на коленке, а-ля hackberry девайсы на ардуино с клавиатурой BB. При этом ребята, скорее всего, хотят остаться на плаву и не иметь этот телефон единственным произведённым устройством в будущем. Судя по стилю ведения аккаунтов компании, у них крайне урезанный бюджет на продвижение, и есть ощущение, что Андре на самом деле не только одно из двух лиц компании, но и самостоятельно ведёт SMM компании. Возможно, я успокаиваю себя таким образом потому что уже заказал телефон (и честно говоря несколько одержим им и с нетерпением жду, когда он придёт ко мне), но по мне так его цена вполне резонна. Девайс вышел достаточно компактным и интересным, он не произведён под крылом какой-то громадной корпорации, а самостоятельным мелким бизнесом, который при этом старается сделать красиво, а не по-гиковски.

Насчёт Blackbery. У меня имелись Keyone и Key2. Во-первых, блэкберри больше не существует, а их телефоны не поддерживались даже, когда компания еще существовала. А во-вторых, камера у Blackberry Key2 была на таком уровне, что легче было бы, если бы её не было вообще. Это была одна из худших камер с отвратительным фокусом, невозможностью снимать в темноте, а невозможность использовать Google Camera API современных версий и собственная недоработка программного обеспечения камеры делала всё только хуже. И, да, последние ТРИ телефона Blackberry - имели встроенное шпионское программное обеспечение от TCL, производителя железа для Blackberry Priv, KeyOne и Key2. Таким образом хвалёная "безопасность" blackberry была пущена коту под хвост.

@edkij In a way you are right in everything you said but if you have followed their channel they're producing this in China. Honestly I doubt they're going for any less than 40% profits. If they wanted to make a name for their selves and then use that name to make big profits later, they would have started with lower profits. I'm not saying go 5% like Xiaomi but still they could have done better

Сканер отпечатков: просмотри видео от ютуберов, которые жаловались на него и ты узнаешь, что при регистрации отпечатка просто слишком светлая анимация, которая не отображается на экране. В остальном говорят, что сканер отпечатков работает отлично.

What do you mean expensive? Compare to the iphones and the Samsungs, add that they are the only ones providing this unique hardware combo I've been missing for years and years, I'd say the price is an out right great deal.. Also, no you can't go for other devices and be happy, because the eink screen is so mega rare, you miss the whole point of the phone. It's a phone that let's you live your life with less screen time, while still giving you the benefits of WhatsApp, Android Auto, all that you'd need in the modern world, with fewer toxic drawbacks. I agree with you, that long term support could be risky, but the hardware is unique enough for me, to try to root it if that would be an issue in the future.

From an hardware standpoint you cannot compare this to a Samsung or iPhone the hardware inside is comparable to a dumb phone or something worth no more than 200 bucks. I used to own blackberries and I'm nostalgic as well but you really can't replace a modern smartphone with this.

С учетом того, что инфляция с 2018 года была довольно сильной, цена в 400 долларов кажется вполне резонной за крайне нишевый смартфон. Конкурент в виде Light Phone 3 стоит 699 долларов, но не имеет клавиатуры и e-ink дисплея. Конечно, есть китайский Bigme Highbrick с даже цветным e-ink, но у него тоже нет физической клавиатуры. И, да, может показаться, что больше никто не использует физическую клавиатуру, но Я использую её и не хочу пытаться использовать только сенсорную клавиатуру. Я готов чуть-чуть переплатить за единственный в этом году телефон с физической qwerty, хотя стоимость этого телефона является 50% от моей зарплаты.

​@@ineztech Well I can kinda see what you mean, especially if you're just looking at the - please excuse the phrase - "idiot tax". If the physical keyboard was the only feature, I would agree 100% actually, because then it would be targeting a different user base. Then I would think the processor, cameras and the rest of the package to be to little for too much. But for me the E-ink is the primary reason for getting it, and because e-ink will become the bottleneck for experienced performance, I should hope that a slower processor wouldn't be as much of a problem. For me, it IS meant to replace a smartphone though. While leaving out some of the unwanted functionality, like the ability to easily watch videos and over engage in social media. For me the real value here is in the unique hardware combination, like the fact that it has both E-ink AND a physical keyboard. I think it's a very good reason for the price. But really.. But honestly, I don't even think the prices is so high to begin with, like I was positively surprised by the price. But again, that is also highly affected by me being the exact target audience for the phone.. Were it a normal phone, competing with other common cheap-ish phones, then I would completely agree with you. 💖💖

We don't even know if the boot loader is unlocked to load other distress yet I think? Also there's other eink devices out there sold for less the only unique thing is the keyword right now.. which doesn't look anywhere near blackberry levels but when you get it let me know how it is
