I think it's a great idea/product. I think I would need the extender because while the keys are great, I need to attach my car key and fob. This is the problem with most key organizers, it's not the system itself but car keys don't fit or really integrate well with the system.

Magnetikeys, LLC I know!! I meaning there’s been very few times that I wished I would have had something to pry with. Maybe if I had a different kind of job but normal day to day activities I don’t think I would ever use one. If I did carry one I guess I would take it out whenever I was opening up a can of something to lift the tab but that’s about it. My pocket knife gets a lot of stuff done and then I also carry a small swish army classic knife on my keys. If I need anything else I’ve got a leather man in my car and a tool bag that has just about everything I would need to work on my car. I’ve got a decent socket set, vice grip, screw drivers, adjustable wrenches, hammer, pliers, zip ties, jumper cables, center punch, allen wrenches, electric tape, flashlight, and heck i even have a hack saw in there. I carry some other stuff in it too but you get the idea. It’s all inside a decently small bag and it just sits in my trunk and it’s come in handy a few times. Mostly at work if we need to fix something and we can’t find a particular tool since no one puts things back...if I know I’m going to be working on stuff I’ll just get my normal tools out. I don’t think it’s something that I would personally ever really use. People that carry one, I’m curious what you use it for and how often?

More importantly, why do bottles still have pop caps? Screw caps are better in pretty much every aspect...

just finding out about these, but i made a similar thing myself a while back, just fitting neodymium magnets on my keys via drill and epoxy. But the one thing that made me stop, was that if you didn't have them locked on with a solid carabiner to your belt loop, the magnets would stick to certain chairs and other things. therefore pulling your keys out of your pocket sometimes. i also had problems with it sticking to my knife, and when i pulled that out, they would come with it and fall off, or id have to remove them. that got annoying.granted these are MUCH better engineered than my DIY keys back then, but im wondering if anyone has had those issues so far with them.

I would totally be all over this were it not for the cap lifter feature. I imagine it would get stuck in my pocket and be a pain. That and I HATE how almost everyone (except for the maker knife) builds cap lifters into anything EDC.

Great news! We've worked out a way to provide both options without having to buy $10,000 worth of each option ($20,000 for Kwikset with and without cap lifter; $20,000 for Schlage with and without cap lifter; etc.)

What a great idea. It's not something I think I would use. But it's a very clever system. Is it just for house keys or can you do vehicle keys as well? And what lock manufacturers are compatible?

Kinda cool. Am I the only one that thinks that having a bottle opener takes away from the product. Not only that but it seems like the Chicago Screw is a one size fits all and that would drive me nuts.

Same here, don't really care for the bottle opener. Plus if you get any kind of liquid onto your keys its just going to get inside of your lock and cause a mess. Nothing a little oil wont fix but still annoying.

We hope so! ;) The Chicago screw is offered in several lengths and can be further modified with a standard file, or even fine tuned with sand paper on a flat surface.

My problem with the bottle opener is its a sharp exposed object that can also catch and snag on any amount of items in a bag or pocket...

i only cary my house keys so i just cut it and drilled a hole in it and put it on my leatherman micra, replacing a screw driver

@@magnetikeys I've used an old crappy multitool by appalachian trail and fitted 4 keys into it, and trimmed one side off. Works very well, I could use the other handle with both sides if I ever need to carry more keys. Car keys carried seperately.

Cool idea but for myself as someone who is currently renting, it wouldn't make sense to purchase as all keys I have cut whilst living here have to be returned when I leave. I love the idea behind them and would consider them if I owned my own house

I already have a few ideas on accessories! If it were to have 4 magnets you can orient it in an "L" shape for leverage with a screw driver. Problem is steel makes the best tools but wouldn't work as well as the brass keys. You could have a brass base with steel tip drivers. Just my first thoughts...

Love the idea, but I live in germany, where those keys are next to useless, and I don’t like that you can't integrate regular keys, like work keys. In Germany, you can't replicate certain keys (unless you do it yourself) without authorization.

What about your keys that aren't Kwikset? I have two Kwiksets, a Schlage, a Wesko and an NA14. If this doesn't integrate all 5 of those keys, it's completely useless.
