please keep in mind that there is rarely a black-and-white way of doing something and whatever idea/concept is trending on social media can be changed slightly to cater to your needs. so, although this was a great video, and may work for some people, please do not be discouraged if this exact guide doesn't work for you. minimalism seriously changed my life. HOWEVER, I found a way to manipulate the concepts/philosophies to serve how I wanted to live MY life. now, I have curated parts of my life to limit any decision-making/chaos, keeping only what gives me joy/serves a purpose for optimal performance, whereas other parts of my life remain to be the same.

One of the best things I've done in the recent five years was starting with minimalism. It's absolutely amazing how less stressed I feel and how much more energy I have since I don't need to constantly choose things. Highly recommend everyone to try it out!

YES! This truly does eliminate SO much needless extra stress and helps free up mental and emotional space to direct towards relationships with the people in our lives, as you said - thank you for the practical steps and advice!! 😄

I sacred my minimalism journey recently. I feel so good like i found some space that I didn't know existed in my house. It's so easy to find my items. I found that 30 percent of my items that are useless in my house. Thank you Dr zach for explaining this❤ Next video:- day 4 of asking. How to study after long days of not studying

My minimalism journey started a long time ago...I realized that certain things are required to have a "back-up" ... I have 2 cars in case one needs repaired, 2 pairs of good sneakers, 2 pairs of great fitting jeans, however, I do have 6 dinner plates, and 5 bowls...and a dozen various glasses (still not a lot, but back-ups for guests or running the dishwasher).

As a minimalist who went from living with no dishwasher for 3 years and washing his 2 or 3 dishes every day, to having a dishwasher now - one set of 4-6 plates/bowls/cups and not having to handwash them is 100% more convenient and still takes up the same amount of cupboard space (except the cups). (The rest of my cupboards are basically empty though)

"Have nothing in your home that you do not find to be beautiful or useful." A borrowed quote, but still one that I use to quiet my house when the visual chaos and creeping disorganization starts to cause a stressful mental and physical reaction.

Like my dad always said, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness." Hey, but seriously, I don't think that one size fits all. The specifics shouldn't really matter just as long as you keep your space tidy. I like to think a minimalist + a completionist = a perfectionist.

How did you tackle the medical texbooks? The large reference books, practical manuals, and all other books that you like but look seldom up? Or books from different med fields that picked your interest but aren't in your main workfiled thematically? Did you recycle them, gave them away, or do you still have a bookshelf full of med textbooks? I find it exceptionally difficult to slim my collection down, even when I use the internet most of the time.. somehow, hard copy gives me more assurance that the knowledge within is succinct and approved for my specialty. Struggling a lot. Any tips from minimalist residents are greatly appreciated

I recently moved and I like physical books but holy crap I had 7 large boxes of books to move and they were at least 50-65lbs each. Once I moved I went through each box and picked out my favorites. Then I organized the rest by category, business, self improvement, football, health, life etc. Then picked out 1-2 to keep from each category. I now have two boxes of books total. You’ll have to make decisions

That was a good video. But...I have a problem with storing everything on the Net. What happens when it is gone?, or you no longer control what you stored on the Net. I treasure my books, all of them. To me reading a book online has none of the enjoyment and satisfaction that holding a BOOK, turning the pages, the smell of the book, ink and binding gives me. But that's just me.

Obviously, common sense needs to be applied. If you regularly have more than one guest - keep more than one spare plate, glass etc. Don't use that to disregard the general premise, though. Tweak it to work *_for_* you.
