It has been a little bit since the Francophone tourney ended and I haven't played any rando since, so I figured I'd do a standard race settings seed to get back into it.

To answer your question about the stamp for Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, hitting the Home button on Wii U to bring up the menu counts as Sleep mode for the DS emulator.

For the Sonic Sprite, I would have just gone with Link's hat. I think it's already a meme that Sonic is a MASSIVE fan of Link's (or maybe that was just a fan comic I read once)

As far as I'm aware, its a randomizer setting to make things easier

Lots of things in the game are changed to make the randomiser arbitrarily easier, like most cut scenes are removed, certain access requirements are removed, and so on. This is one of those that's changed so it always gives you the money. Some things are configurable too.
