As a Vikings fan, couldn’t have been happier with day 1. We boxed out the raiders, and broncos, we didn’t have to give up next years first, possibly getting future picks for the tampering, and we got the best edge rusher in the class on top of it. We have the most cap space going into free agency next year, while adding a better running back and depth at linebacker through free agency with cheap contracts. This KOC playbook is WAY too complicated for a rookie to come in and just run the system, but he is in one of the best situations for a young qb to have.

Turner was a nice get. Meanwhile, Michigan did everything they could to take the ball out of McCarthy's hands when the game counted, and his best traits are "intangibles." He'll need a year to sit at least.

Vikings fan here! I agree with everything besides one thing.. not sure we can say for a fact whether Darnold or JJ is the guy. You could argue that darnold hasn’t ever gotten a shot on a good team and might surprise everyone this season. I do not feel “set in stone” at the QB position. I’d say it’s about 1/3 that Darnold turns his career around, 1/3 that JJ develops into the guy for us, and 1/3 that we’re right back looking for another QB in a few seasons…

They got who they wanted, without giving up their other 1st round pick, and they were able to keep their 108 pick. All they mortgaged was a 4th and 5th this year and a 2nd 3rd and 4th. Instead of giving up 3 1st rounders. So they got QB of the future and Dallas Turner... maybe the best Edge in this draft.

Who is talking about "Caleb Williams going to a great situation in Chicago?". Williams is a great QB, who will now become a bust and none of it's his fault, because Chicago is where QBs go to die. The Bears have historically won with great opportunistic defenses and a tough clock management style of offense. You would be tough to find the last "great" QB the Bears ever drafted or hell, find me a great QB the Bears have ever had. Sorry, but maybe your grandfather knows, because it was probably Sid Luckman who played back during WW2. Williams should have asked for a trade straight out the gate. Oh and let's also add that they are in a division with Detroit and GB, and on the lesser stint Minnesota, all three are young and playoff caliber teams. You heard it here first, while I feel Caleb could be elite, he won't do it in Chicago. This franchise is historically bad, from ownership down to the coaches.

If JJ absolutely crushes the summer workouts and training camp then preseason games and darnold isn't playing well ( I think Sam is going to play well) then you just speed up the process and hook up JJ around week 12 if our record is not good and just start the kid.. give him the end of the season and then a whole new off-season next year he may be ready.. I am not ruling out JJ playing if we are really losing a game badly or winning by a lot he can get some playing time and experience it's worth it we are set now for years... fingers crossed 🤞 that JJ's winning attitude rubs off on the locker room

I'm still not sure the Vikings will be that good in 2024. They relied primarily on their offense and without a proven QB it could significantly weaken the team's performance like it did in 2023. On defense Flores performed near miracles with the personnel he had and the tricks he used may not be repeatable. However, on D the Vikings have also been bringing in more Flores-type players who can pass rush and play multiple roles so we'll see how much that helps things. The Vikings are still not that good on the corners and in a division where we expect a lot of good passing they had better get incredible pressure on the QB in that scheme because those corners could end up in a lot of man coverage with little deep help. It's quite possible that the Vikings are decent but only go 1-5 in tough division games while being around .500 against everyone else and so only win 6-7 games. I can understand how Turner fell so far since so many teams needed QB, OL, WR in a draft strong at those positions...except for what ATL did. It's insane to take Penix there unless since handing over a Brinks truck to Cousins only 6 weeks ago they suddenly think his injury/recovery might be more limiting than they had expected. Anyway the Colts pick of Latu ahead of Turner is definitely a risk, but if he can stay healthy he will should be fantastic for them.

I would start Mccarthy right away. Sam Darnold is a joke. Waste of 10m. He started 2 games last season appeared in 3. Went 0-2 as a starter and one of those 2 starts was absolutely atrocious. If there is one thing that he's proven throughout his career it's that he consistently loses games. Not a guy I want leading my squad. You said it in your video. 1 loss thru college.
