"Shana can be so stupidly insecure about her talent. It's a real pain." - Kimber Benton, 1987

I mean... Shana was playing the drums, guitar, and designing clothes. She was probably not getting paid enough.

Song popped in my head whilst discussing modern internet culture. A lot of folks think they're humanitarian goody-good Jerrica Benton, but really, they're all Pizzazz.
@syxepop3 жыл бұрын
The odd thing about it is that even Jerrica was drawn with human failures ("love monster", manipulative...) like anybody else IRL. How about Synergy's "love for the macabre" and "Diva qualities"? This is what makes this cartoon so much interesting; lots of tones of grey indeed...

Erica Brodie Stormer was on this video, like as all the Misfits' songs. But in this episode she wasn't implicated at all in the Misfits' plot against Kimber before this song : she wasn't in the restaurant when the other Misfits made a false interview of Sean Harisson and she never had Kimber's diary in her hands: Pizzazz, Roxy and Jetta did!
@bhd77219 жыл бұрын
Because she's friends with Kimber but Stormer did proform with the Mitfits at Skating rink I would be ashamed to look Kimber in the face
@leonardeuler95929 жыл бұрын
+Erica Brodie I will tell you only what I know: Stormer and Kimber became friends in the episode "Bands Break Up" which happens clearly after "Talent Search 2" , because Raya is a Holograms' member. This song "Scandal" is in the episode "Scandal".The episode "Scandal" is obviously next "Talent Search 2", since at the beginning of the episode "Scandal" Raya, Shana and Kimber talk about Raya's integration in the Holograms. Therefore in this episode Scandal (and of course in this song too) , Stormer didn't know Kimber .Thus they weren't yet friends and Stormer doesn't have to be ashamed of that.
@bhd77219 жыл бұрын
Oh I thought they were in the Dear Diary episode because she didn't take any part of the Scandal and she didn't read the Diary
@leonardeuler95929 жыл бұрын
+Erica Brodie No they weren't friends in the Dear Diary episode: The Dear Diary episode is the same as the episode "Scandal". As I said before, Stormer and Kimber became friends in the "Bands Break Up " episode. Since "Band Break up " occur after the Dear diary episode, Stormer was not yet Kimber's friend on this video.

Gosh, it said 1987 in the diary, perhaps the Misfits and the Holograms would be in their 50s and 60s by now...
@syxepop3 жыл бұрын
The one that I'd be certain about (writing on 10/15/21) is Jerrica / Jem, 22 in '85, then born 6/1/1963 (58+ years), 10 days older than Britta Phillips IRL (6/11/1963). Then you guesstimate from there: Kimber would be like 4 years younger and Pizzazz like 3 years older than Jerrica (most adult females would go from that range of 54-61 today). Also figure that both Rio and Riot (and the other Stingers) would be in the older part of the range, slightly over 60. Eric Raymond would be closer to 30 in '85 (mid 60's today). ... and Synergy, since she's "the second coming of Jacqui Benton" (adding "mechanical age" to human life) would stand proudly in her mid 40's, including like 15 months between her plane crash and "mechanical activation", in '85 (I guesstimate 80 total, one of the most beautiful Seniors out there and not because she'd "hide into pixels")*. The Starlight Girls "ranged" from about 8 (BaNee) to 15 (Deidre), so 44 to 51 today. * if anyone doubts it can be done IRL, try a '21 photo from Linda Evans from the "Dynasty" soap opera, stunning at 78.

Pizzazz is obviously still in love with Shawn. Its easy to see he broke up with her when he mentally matured. It really stinged Pizzazz he fell in love with Kimber. Pizzazz doesn't take rejection well. Especially when a Hologram gets what Pizzazz wants.

@powerpuff4ever3 жыл бұрын
They become friends two episodes later. Stormer would hesitate with things she thinks would actually hurt somebody but she’s _in_ the misfits because she has a hunger for fame and a chaotic side of her own. Like that time Jem got blamed for a robbery, Stormer cleared her name because that’s life altering. Spreading something that breaks down someone’s goody goody image for the current news cycle probably didn’t fit in that wheel house of severity

Good song but why is the animation quality so bad, especially compared to season 1? This looks like a generic version of the Misfits, drawn by an amateur.

Cheaper AKOM animation from South Korea, rather than quality Toei* animation from Japan. That explains it... *Toei started somewhere after Episode 8 (both "movie arcs")

This is a an average song from this show, and probably one of the best Misfits' song. The music is good (even if a little bit too electronic) , but the lyrics are bad (they are about dishonouring someone) as usual with the Misfits (and this is not the songwriter's fault ).
