Been subscribed to Geordie since he was on 20k and the weirdest thing for me is the way he's constructed a past and narrative about himself when surely I'm not the only one who remembers what he used to be like? Firstly, the Nile Ranger video wasn't his first. He had a couple UFC fight reviews and a rant on the England football team before that (all deleted). Second, he is or at least was married. He used to mention his wide all the time and you could hear her laughing in the background of some (his 100k QnA in particular IIRC, also deleted). Yeah, I randomly found his channel around 2013-14 when he was around 10K subscribers. Back when he was in videos for KICKTV. He was very funny and relatable back then. He’s gradually become a very different person over the last nine years, which is understandable. Time changes people, and success definitely changes people. First time I watched him (and I myself am a Geordie), he bought himself an expensive car. But for some reason (his massive insecurity), he seemed almost apologetic about it. But he was bouncing back and forth between saying sorry, and then being an arrogant arsehole trying to justify why he deserves an expensive car (I have worked hard, I came from nothing, I have EARNED this! blah blah blah). My ex was watching the video over my shoulder, and she correctly pegged him as insecure, and called his new car a penis extension. Brian really is a very insecure man deep down. He is willing to throw integrity and morality under the bus in order to create a fake image of himself, as being a confident, high self esteem, couragous guy etc. The problem is, he isn't intelligent enough to be an effective con man, which is why people are turning on him. They can see through him. It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that he would be willing to delete videos that might be embarrassing to him. That man's entire life is an embarrassment, and I seriously dislike the fact that he is a Geordie, because he is an embarrassment to us all. Which is why I keep calling him True Mackem (although that is probably too insulting to Mackems).

There seems to be an emerging trend on KZbin and social media in general, where creators constantly have to show or exclaim what great people they are, and how certain other people are "bad" and should be shamed for their opinions. In reality, this obsession to signal their virtue and superior morals only goes to show how toxic and narcissistic these people really are. Brian is a prime example of this, as aptly highlighted by his "apology" video. Lawrence, JaackMaate and Stephen Tries are other examples. Like, who are you to judge others? You'd better be a truly faultless human being before you criticise others. Truly good people don't need to broadcast it or shame others for views, they live and let live and treat everyone with kindness away from the camera. Other people have brought up W2S as someone who makes offensive jokes. When has Harry ever beefed with anyone or criticised someone else for their opinions or life choices? He's a chill guy who has social anxiety and a very dark sense of humour, but he doesn't have an ego, nor does he preach to others about how they should live their lives. The Sidemen are so successful because they don't get into beefs that much (KSI aside), they seldom mention politics or social issues, they just entertain. Markiplier these days is so chill, does a lot of charity work, doesnt broadcast it that much, doesnt tell others how shitty they are. There's a lot to be said for that approach, instead of believing in your own massively inflated self importance and giant ego.

As a Muslim, it does hurt when people make jokes about suicide bombers because it's not funny and we relate more to those hurt than those doing the hurting as human beings. However, I think when someone apologises, we should give them the benefit of doubt and move on afresh. It serves no one to go after someone's livelihood, reputations etc which inevitably hurts those who depend on them and are innocent of their actions. I used to follow The True Geordie when he had like 30k subscribers. There are some people who change after they get famous and True Geordie is 100% one of those people. In his early videos, you can relate to him as a regular football fan but now you can tell that he doesn't view himself and the average person on the same level. Although I wasn't a fan of the big change on his channel, I understood that he did it to get more money and gain more popularity and it has worked. So yes, he has an ego now.
