So if my want my X9 Lite radio to bind to D8 I need the IRX4 Lite module? I have the TH Freestyle 2 that says it's D8, but I changed in Betaflight a configuration setting from FRSKY_D to FRSKY_X and am flying the TH Freestyle in D16. Is there a benefit to getting the IRX4 Lite module and binding in D8 over binding in D16 like I'm doing now? Or am I going to run into a binding problem as I buy more drones that are made for D8 unless I get the IRX4 module? Any help and advice is appreciated. I'm just getting into this hobby and am trying really hard not to blow money on the wrong things.

Thumbs up. In the 2019-10-05 2.3.1 , crossfire receiver side s-bus also works, which is my main goal. However, the 10-05 build fails D16. And I have to use my QX7 to bind my XM+ receiver. So, I need 2 radios or swap my x9 lite firmware everytime I switch my model.

If you want "the full package" the x9dse is still the way and that jumper with the color screen is fantastic too especially if there is a gimbal mod out there. But I just ordered an x9lite pro as my qx7 was stolen from my car. And I have no problem with crossfire needing an adapter, I'd 3d print one if I wanted it and I'll probably run r9 instead anyway. Nothing against tbs products. I run the unify despite the cost but crossfire is a little rich for my blood. It may be worth the money but I'm a good is sometimes good enough kind of guy.

Crossfire was always going to work. People were complaining it wasn’t working when OpenTX is an Alpha version of the firmware and why would they added a drop in piece of code.

Been useing the multi module but when you change to 2.3 firmware and you change your sd contents make sure you add the pmu update and isrm update or the module will not work on some radios

Where can I get the batteries for this, and what is it supposed to look like in the back, where the batteries go. Is there supposed to be a divider to fit the batteries in? I am so confused. I have one and the batteries which I ordered are back ordered.

Spend the money and just get crossfire. I don’t understand why this is still a discussion. Yes it cost more, yes its a way more reliable link and yes you’ll get more range! Not to mention the simple ease of use from the tx to the rx’s. Glad i made the switch a year ago.

I have something interesting. Can you do latency test on the X9 lite? Few weeks ago, I saw someone sharing a spreadsheet of latency test between radios and interestingly, on the same receiver, protocol and OS, the X9 lite with the new ISRM module has less latency by nearly 10ms compared to X9D with XJT module, bringing it quite close to Crossfire. Would like your thoughts on this.
