THE MISSING LINK! Double NFP filter onboard preamp for bass by

Welcome back to the Wetter bass!
Second out of three videos about Lusithand Devices 2 onboard preamps for bass.
The double NFP filter is like an active tone pot that allows you to select the cut off frequency, as if you could change the value of the capacitor of a passive tone pot, and cut all the frequencies above that pot. Check out the video to find out why this is so COOL!

I used to be able to make those wah sounds with my EMG BQC preamp I had in an old Aria Pro. Midrange sweep.

It took me a LONG LONG time to fall in love with filters. I preferred the "simpler" 2 and 3 band EQ. It makes more logical sense to me, UNTIL I had the breakthru at a live performance and realized just how much more effective and EASIER the filter sits in the mix. For now, it's all filter for me.

Same here. Just reinstalled the double NFP after (re)testing the 800TS by Lusithand. There’s something organic about these filters that are just great to give texture to my jazz bass’s tone.

Very interesting concept, especially in this dual filter config. I guess this will work especially well with pickups that are clear and bright by default. You can then shape them to sound more vintage-like. And I think it sounds incredible with drive pedals, awesome sound shaping there! Would not be my choice since the pickups on my bass have a very pronounced vintage character, and I rarely use distortion. But I still dig it!

Hi! I think these work fine with both clear and darker pups, the filter does start at 4k after all. I’ll be installing a custom darker version of the filter on a short scale I plan on building soon. So expect a review of that one in about 2 months.

I have one. It has great tone. But if you want to buy consider this: since it is a low pass filter with freq boost, you can't adjust the lower frequencies. Other than that is has a lot of flexibility because the freq boost is parametric.

Oh, absolutely! No low end boost unless you take it down to the lowest setting peak at 170Hz. But it’s more low mids than high lows…

What exactly are you trying to say?You can boost whatever frequency you set the resonant peak at between 170hz and 4khz.

@@miguelfernandes333 you can boost each freq, but not without cutting the higher frequencies. And you can't cut the low bass if your sounds too boomy

@@thewetterbass Ok, I did a bass with a passive version of this, its definitely less noticeable and I have a degree in electronics with 20 years in the field experience in design and repair, I just for a moment thought I came across a deeper design factor, but if its active it all makes sense. The website is not as open formst as Id like it to be
