Hello.

I'm dying to hear this thing paralleled with the red muck, and running into the simplifier (with a low passed clean signal blended in of course... 😉) If you would be so kind, I think that would be a sick set up, and I've been wondering if I should pull the trigger on doing it (already have the simplifier.. kind of in the weeds as to what gain pedals I want). I know you got these lying around! (And to be extra clear, I mean splitting the signal into both the red muck and lucydreamer, then blending both and going into the simplifier, and having a third clean signal go into the lpf loop of that thing... its kind of a ultra analog megazord alpha omega studio setup hybrid kinda thing.)

@thewetterbass
@thewetterbass 2 күн бұрын
@@fitorios4632 ok.

I use my TS at times as a boost to add just a little brightness to my always on Morning Glory. It sounds great when played with a chorus to get that 80s Ross Valery type of sound. I run it through a Tri Parallel Mixer as it really does suck the bass out of your tone.

Thank you! Sounded nice (dialed in a warm wooly sound at times here) I bought it. Then I listened to your shootout where I also liked the Jam Lucy Dreamer, Eden Glowplug, and Nobels ODR-B those also sounded great. In this video though you were able to get the smoother, wooly Eden and Nobels sound to a degree. And like this video’s sounds better than the video where you only look at the Jam. Not sure how this one was dialed in during the shootout (in which those other three I like better. So, I hope I made the right choice based on the Becos’s showing in this video compared to its showing in the shootout!

I recently purchased this pedal partly on your recommendation. This is a very poor example of an octave pedal. The MXR Bass Octave Deluxe and Boss OC-2 are very good octave pedals. The Seamoon Octatron has so many flaws by comparison that I really can’t be bothered going over them. My recommendation to those tempted to buy this awful thing: Try it first!
@thewetterbass
@thewetterbass 14 күн бұрын
Oh wow… Sorry to hear that! I owned the MXR and had the opposite experience 😅. I also own two OC-2 (one MIJ and the other MIT) and they do have a unique sound but are “slower”, not as responsive, as the Seamoon.
@carlton1390
@carlton1390 14 күн бұрын
My MXR pedal tracks flawlessly down to low F#, can handle slap and even 5ths. Not so the Seamoon (for me). Low notes are reduced in volume and higher ones are louder (than the bypassed signal) with the Octatron (!). I’ve tried different basses, put a compressor before it and reduced the input to the pedal with no satisfaction. Mine does not sound like yours. Perhaps quality is inconsistent with these
@thewetterbass
@thewetterbass 14 күн бұрын
@carlton1390 no doubts about the tracking of the MXR, none whatsoever! It’s more a question of how it feels and I’m glad you get the best out of it. Actually that’s the beauty of these devices, they each better suit our needs.
@carlton1390
@carlton1390 13 күн бұрын
Well, I’ve now spent more time with it and have found some positives! The two octaves down is useable (unlike the OC-2) and it sounds good. When playing it next to my MXR BOD I actually prefer the sound of the Seamoon! I found that by tuning up the SUB control on the Octatron it’s possible to bring the volume of low notes up to match the higher ones- this does however bring up the overall volume of the pedal which is a jump up from the bypassed volume. Also, as you say, it’s easy to overload the input stage. I do actually like this pedal now (!)- thanks for your patience with my ranting!

Try running the Jive into the JHS compressor at lower volume and gain. It’ll really fatten up that overdrive on Channel A. I run into a Morning Glory which does tend to lose low end but sounds great on bass with a blended signal. I use the Tri Parallel Mixer!

Nice! Here the PnP on channel B is only taking care of compressed, slightly boosted in the lows, clean signal. Channel A (drives + fx) does not have a compressor.
