Having just watched a video of the line being torn up this is a pleasure to see. The very best of luck to all concerned.

The government won't fund this and re open it. It's not in London. What was the estimated cost to re open , does anyone know ?

HI all, you will all be pleased to hear that this rail line could be reopened sooner than you might think, and all thanks to SELRAP who have been moving boulders over the last few months to make this happen, please go to the SELRAP website and download the latest news letter (AT A GLANCE 2017) for more details.

if it was reopened where would you park in colne? the station car park holds about 10 cars LOL if you have to drive out of colne to a park and ride you may as well keep driving!

After ten years & looking at the reports everyone is still just talking about it! It would be great to get to Skipton without using the car, but will it ever happen? At the moment it probably costs between £10-£15 to travel to Skipton there & back including parking fees. I'd reckon for my family of four it would be around £40 return from Burnley to Skipton which I wouldn't be prepared to pay so it would have to be economically viable to use the route otherwise it would be just another white elephant route!

Never going to open. Unfortunately there’s no appetite for it except a few of us. Probably be like last time no one using it

Looks like no chance now May 23 2020. I've read that there is already a line. Rose Grove to Halifax / Bradford /Leeds

Whilst a rail supporter, this link would be better off being built as a road (perhaps initially in the Dutch style of half an expressway with the other carriageway being added later, similar to the A59 by Whalley), and would provide much wider benefits. Sadly Andrew Haines is quite right about the cost of family rail travel being a real disincentive.
