*The Mission* is a band worth exploring. 1986's _God's Own Medicine_ is one of the best albums of that decade.

The mission formed after Wayne Hussy split from the sisters of mercy. This their second major release produced by John Paul Jones of led Zeppelin, gave them a much grander sound, perhaps the most commercial of the big goth bands releasing material, worth a dip into all about eve, sisters of mercy ( floodland a definite reply to this ) the fields of the … the cult, spear of destiny all followed suit shifting their soundscapes to bigger production.. can see it’s influence across a lot of bands, the eastern guitars & big drum sounds. Very important album lifting goth out the shadows

I like sisters of mercy much more than the Mission but there would only be a few songs I would recommend to Tre. Not sure if he gets the goth rock or would like it much. Mission came out in about 1985

The Mission generally keep it lowkey or 'in a cage' in the studio. They dont really go outside the box. No huge solos. They arent heavy metal or even rock. Kind of a Goth, alternative rock whatever. If they go outside of the box it would sound cheesy.
