The world should know this. I'm going to pick modular construction topic to prepare for my Sustainable Design master class at Heriot-Watt University. Wish me luck 💯

wow after being in the industry for over 50 years as Carpenter, an employer, and now a Building &Construction teacher, and seeing the inovation of new products and new developments of new designs, i believe that our building systems in Australia, are so outdated and antiquated and are so far behind the world of technology of being eco friendly and efficent that this type of building is offering, this would/will be a massive future change to our Australian industry. this is the absolute best concept of building just fantastic, i would love to have more updated info from you guys when you have available kind regards look forward to you advice

Just read about Berkshire Hathaway's investment into MiTek. This is exciting! Lots of people have come along with clever ideas, but few have ever attracted such talent and top-tier investment. As a professional AV systems designer, this stuff is stunningly impressive. I can't wait to know more. This is the sort of project I wish I were involved in! Best of luck to you folks!

when they started talking about modularity and taking time out of multiple projects . . then stepping into creating modules in a lab . . I was reminded of a recent Adam Savage video about Princess Cruise's new ship and their work on cabin designs

just a quick question, when a client comes to you to build a structure do you provide in house architecture, design, project management and all the steps necessary to complete the construction project?

Robotic automation or bust. Assembly line or on site, you're still building by hand. You want to scale and change the game. Robotic automation for the whole process. Practically what the auto industry does does.

Sounds like a Venture Capital Pitch full of lots of hype. The bottom line is this: comparing apples to apples, how much does it cost to build a modular home with MiTek vs an identical home with traditional on site construction
@Zoza152 жыл бұрын
Depends the faster you can build and remaining the quality of the structure the faster the other firms will adopt your method of construction.. And perhaps the whole world will adopt a new construction standard guideline.. Soon i could see a robot arm doing all of the construction 😆.

I find it baffling that we haven’t adopted an assembly line approach to construction. Instead of sticking to outdated methods, we could be revolutionizing the way homes are built. For instance, why are we still constructing walls with plumbing, electrical, and venting systems? We could run all these systems from the floor to avoid wall penetrations and preserve the integrity of the building's energy envelope. Furthermore, traditional wood framing could easily be replaced with more durable welded steel frames, offering greater resilience. Our insulation materials are also far behind. We should be using advanced, sustainable materials instead of relying on outdated options. Additionally, separating exterior walls from interior walls with air gaps could enhance insulation and energy efficiency. We’re in the middle of a housing crisis, yet there’s no bold, innovative "moonshot" solution coming from our elected leaders. This is a failure not only for millennials but also for future generations. We should be able to order pre-fabricated walls or even entire systems for specific needs like kitchens, bathrooms, or HVAC units-ready to install with minimal hassle. These segments could be delivered with external connections for quick integration into supply and return systems. The lack of effort to modernize the construction industry is nothing short of a disaster.
