Great video as always Kev - nice fun one. I have to agree the seatbelt rattle for an unoccupied front seat is just plain annoying. I also find the Bluetooth audio when taking a call is really poor, it could be the microphone placement or the wiring of it from the RNS310. Wheel hop can be a struggle in 1st/2nd if pushing hard, but manageable and oh my the gloss black seat covers get marred and scuffed easy, need to get them sorted. Speaking of gloss black, another annoyance on the outside is the gloss black trim around the car, that gets scratched easy... Overall, it is a cracking car and has a bit of USP compared to the VAG options of its time - so for me its an MK2 LCR over the others 😁

Great vid, my rear side windows really annoy me as well, looking at a wrap solution. Your R sounds great, my 2.0 FR is pretty quiet to me but apparently sounds pretty good from outside. Little thing but i also really appreciate the 2 stage door opening, when you open the door is pretty useful if close to a wall. You're right about XDS makes a great difference. I specced the armrest from new about £100 well worth having, one of the legs on mine snapped though about 10years ago, so i rarely open it now 😂 having one does mean it needs to be open to access the cup holders. Love my FR popping the OE BBS wheels on next week would prob only change for a very good R.

Yeah the armrest design was a strange one, but it definitely looks good and is handy to have. You spec'd a £100 investment back then 😂 they're silly money nowadays!!! 🙈 And excellent points you made throughout Rob. As for sound I had a much better clip of it popping a little more and sounding a bit more aggressive, but during the edit I realised I hadn't recorded any sound 🙈 so a last minute clip from my NC500 road trip where I was revving the Cupra in a car park 😂

The door sill stickers are just a handful of things from eBay. Carbon effect door sill stickers, a Cupra sticker, then in my instance a VW Golf R sticker 👍🏻

If your steering is feeling bad is could be a number of things. Strut top bearings, track rod ends or inner track rods, or the rack and pinion joint of the steering wheel shaft is seizing up. The most expensive fix is the steering rack, so it'll be a case of finding what's causing the issue I'm afraid, by checking each area.

Ah rite. No I think the steering feel and feedback is perfect 👌🏻 I've been driving the car for 13 years and like the way it feels, and I can still tell what the front end is doing when cornering hard. And the car handles really well, so yeah all excellent 👍🏻

My cupra r has 4 pot brakes with the side skirts yours should have the side skirts

Is your one a UK spec car? I think some different versions were available depending what countries sold them. UK cars didn't offer the Cupra R with side skirts from the factory sadly.
