Tried this on my 2015 Mazda 3 which has a 12v charger. I replaced it with the QC adapter and to my surprise - no power. I connected multimeter, set to 20dc and get no voltage. I know my lighter worked cause I had a regular dual USB adapter in there. Don't know why suddenly would stop working. Also checked fuses inside the car and on the one that comes with the QC adapter and they're good. Don't understand what happened when hoping for a quick and easy installation
@NorthCoastWorkshop
@NorthCoastWorkshop 6 күн бұрын
I'm not sure what has happened there. Something must have been disrupted when fitting the replacement QC adapter. Are u able to plug back in the old 12v lighter socket and see if that still works? Though I suppose if you're getting no voltage at all at the wires it must be something to do with the car. Hopefully you can track down the issue 🤞🏻

My Peugeot RCZ wipcom 3d ng4 has same issues no antenna on the roof so I guess it’s all in one somewhere hard to find…
@NorthCoastWorkshop
@NorthCoastWorkshop 6 күн бұрын
I managed to find what it might look like. It may be hidden under some trim in view of the front or rear window. Supposedly the radio antenna is integrated into wires within the top of the rear window. If you were able to find the connector for the GPS on the rear of the head unit, hopefully it would be the same solution as mine, once you found the relevant Peugeot connection. RCZ GPS module pic for reference www.proxyparts.com/car-parts-stock/information/part-number/9661102880/part/gps-antenna/partid/9595298/

Brilliant video guys you had me hooked in the first four minutes as I was laughing out loud at your banter. Being a North East loon myself I appreciated the scenery of Scotland and you fairly got the weather but then again it's usually drier in the East rather than here in the West where I now live. Just the one problem if you are going to show a Broch for the tourists it's aye better to hide the JCB that was parked across the road that knocked it up in an afternoon. I really appreciated the cars. I have owned most of the hot hatches over the years from an Escort Si to an Ibiza, Primera, MG ZR, Fiesta ST, 208 GTi, Corsa VXR, Civic Sport+ to my current hottest of all the i-Pace unless you discount it either as an SUV or it doesn't count being non ICE. Both your cars are really tidy and I wondered how many times you stopped to clean brake dust from your alloys before shots and what products you were carrying to do touch up jobs on route. The forfeit feature was class and should have the Top Gear producers contacting you in the near future. It goes without saying I liked and subscribed to your channel and wish you all the best with growing it but I am sure it will take off and if it doesn't I'm sure you could all take up a career in Stand-up.

@NorthCoastWorkshop
@NorthCoastWorkshop 25 күн бұрын
How old is the car, and what mileage? I'm surprised your A4 recommends 0w20. Though 5w30 is the usual recommendation for a new 2ltr TFSI engine, so that will be fine for it. 5w40 is good if the engine has 100k + miles on it or if you tend to push the engine hard a lot of the time.

@NorthCoastWorkshop
@NorthCoastWorkshop Ай бұрын
Best thing to do is before you remove the plug try and remove as much corrosion with either a cloth, or magnet, or even with a wire brush followed with a hoover that's got a small nozzle attachment on the end of it. Just to minimise the risk of anything falling into the cylinder once the plug is removed 👍🏻

Hi Kev , do you know what torx bits are for the boot and the multifunction steering wheel buttons . It be a great help for when i order some.
@NorthCoastWorkshop
@NorthCoastWorkshop Ай бұрын
Hey Ross, Sorry I don't know the exact size for the boot torx, and its currently at a garage getting new front tires, otherwise I'd check. But if you haven't already got a 'mechanics bit set' in your collection of tools, I highly recommend one, especially as SEAT's use a lot of these fixings. I've popped a link below of what I mean, and draper is a good brand. (You'll need a ratchet) amzn.to/3VC1T90 As for the steering board wheel controls, they were very small torx screw, so I used one torx screwdriver from a set like this. Again, handy to have around for car jobs. amzn.to/3XeDBTX Apologies that I can't give u the exact sizes just now.

Do you know if there is an easier way to acces both horns if you just want to replace them at their current location? Can you get to them through the fog lights? Thanks!
@NorthCoastWorkshop
@NorthCoastWorkshop Ай бұрын
Hey there, So for my design of bumper if I remove the front black trim from the fog lights there is yet more moulded yellow bumper in behind it and the hole from removing the fog lights isn't big either. As much as it is a pain to get the bumper off, you'll find you save plenty of time because you will get clear access to both horns without anything in the way at all. Front bumper removal is, take out the screws attaching the under tray to the bumper, wheel arch bits - some torx in each of the wheel arch liners, a plastic bracket on each side, I believe a screw which goes upwards from the bumper into the front wing Then your 4 screws along the top once the bonnet has been opened. Gently prise the bumper off the wings as there is plastic tabs which can sometimes be brittle.

Thanks, but not the answer i was hoping for 🥲. I’m afraid i have the same bumper (Cupra R facelift). One side looks maybe possible while the other not so much. Will try anyways if i can make it work the easy way haha, otherwise whole bumper will be next. Thanks for the answer!

Thanks for the advice mate! The left side one was doable with a lot of fiddling through the fog ligt. The right side was completely impossible though. So i had to take off the bumper anyways.
