The angels go on these mini hot stretches and give Arte hope that there is a good team if “everything goes right.” The thing is, nothing ever goes right and there is a severe lack of depth. Perry hasn’t been perfect but you have to imagine how different things would be if he truly had full reign on decision making. Apparently he had “Juan Soto level” packages in hand for shohei the last two seasons and Arte squashed them. SMH

For example, you said you think the Orioles are fine with their playoff rotation, would a current player on any team ever say they think they need an upgrade in the rotation? Giants should be active in a positive way. They’re playing better going into the break and they have so much of their staff coming back. Snell pitched great in his rehab starts and last start. Harrison just needs to settle in and then there’s both Cobb/Ray coming back soon. Just need another bat or 2 to go with Ramos, Bailey, Soler, & Wade. Conforto is swinging it well and so is Chapman despite lower BA’s. If they could get Vlad, he’d be one to go after. They need a SS too. Go get both Bo and Vlad. Bring em over to have a trio of former Jays for your infield. That would be funny. Probably not happening but they should try to get Vlad. Outside of that I’m not sure who they would go after. Jazz maybe but the Lee contract throws that off. We’re losing a lot of guys to FA so if we can pick up some years on guys this year, that could get us over a hump. Conforto could be trade bait with added value on him swinging it well now. Here’s what I’d offer to get Bo & Vlad. - Luciano or Wisely - Wilmer - Conforto and/or Yaz - young pitcher (maybe Birdsong, Black, Teng - maybe picks and cash to sweeten it or maybe they add a minor league RP

Seattle has proven they WILL buy when necessary, look at castillo that was a blockbuster at the time, yeah last year was disappointing but they didn't play well until days before the deadline, this year they've been in first for a little bit and have shown that a league average offense is winning 95+ games, I see them going for Chisholm and maybe a middle infielder
