Last Of The Summer Wine is a great show with very skilled actors. The writer Roy Clarke, is a brilliant writer, he also wrote "Open all Hours," with Arkwright in charge of a shop.

Amazing amount of research Leigh, I’m impressed how you discovered the make, model, and history of the many vehicles that appeared in the show.

Thanks for the great information, love some of the old vehicles, some quite rare now. You work hard to gather your facts, thanks again love watching them all the best

Than you Peter! I have always been interested in Transport, but mostly the aesthetics, not the mechanical bits! Ironic, as dad was a mechanic !

I remember the red double decker that was converted to a café as it was round the corner from my work in St Leonards. It had a small collection of pictures of it being used in the series on-board. Sad to see it go when it did, was very nice to have a bit of Summer Wine history nearby.

I'm realy enjoying these and recently been going to my mums and showing her these episodes and she loves them. Plus watching LOTSW on drama each night. Which made me buy the box set so I'll never miss out.

Loved every second of this excellent video, but hope you will add a part two to include more vehicles and fun moments. Foggy first appears on a bus and the show where Howard and Marina are caught build a greenhouse in there are gypsies, . . .
@upstagedbyadog Жыл бұрын
Pleased you enjoyed it David. You've got about a dozen other episodes to watch, that include Foggy's return and Howard and Marina's various escapades, plus another vehicle related video to come!

I am so Thrilled ! Remember "Oh Howard ..." when Wesley built the motor powered bed, actually you may have mentioned it in other most excellent videos. From USA, we love you !!!@@upstagedbyadog

You should do a episode of your favourite episodes, Getting Sam home, Serenade for tight jeans and metal detector, The kink in Foggys niblick, Who made a bit of a splash in Wales, and episodes mostly from the first eight or so series.

Laughing to myself thinking about all the episodes that involved hearses used for more than their original purpose . Auntie Wainwright finally bought Tom & Smiler "better transportation" than the handcart - turns out it was an old slow hearse. Tom was horrified but Smiler liked the "little vase in the back that you can put a flower in."

Connor and Graham was taken over by EYMS in 1996 IIRC. I believe their depot in Easington still stands though it isn't used as a bus depot any more
@upstagedbyadog Жыл бұрын
According to Mike Welton it was in February 1993, but the vehicle used in the show was sold by C&G before the takeover by East Yorks.

Seymour must've had a driving license in his youth, as he drove a three wheeler in First of the Summer Wine. I'm willing to believe he didn't renewed it after he started his school since he believed he'd be successful enough to hire his own driver.
@upstagedbyadog9 ай бұрын
Good point, he was just the right age to need to take a test, required from 1934, before then you needed a licence but there was no test! Driving was definitely below Seymour!

I remember that odd three wheeler Seymour drove. In LOTSW he apparently no longer posseses a licence.
@alana9273 Жыл бұрын
if it was a 3 wheeler it could be be driven on a motor cycle licence.
