@bernie95644 жыл бұрын
Be yourself but also read the room. If your interviewer is coming off as someone who's receptive to enthusiasm ( most people are ) then you should do that. If you it doesn't come naturally to you, don't force it, people don't respond well to inauthenticity. At the end of the day, the interviews are with people so think about what people like and how people respond.

I feel like I know a little bit about the bureaucratic side of medicine, but i'm not confident in my ability to talk at length on that subject. Any tips, or resources?
@TheChocolateDocs6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the support and congrats on your interviews! That is so exciting! In regards to your question, I actually wasn't asked any questions about healthcare policy. Nneka was asked about universal healthcare, but gave a pretty basic response. However, to be prepared, I would just familiarize yourself with a few basic facts and general understanding of our healthcare system. We don't have any specific websites or articles to refer you to, but you can just google and find what you need. Hope that helps and good luck on the interview trail!

Hello Chocolate Docs! I have an interview coming up in a couple weeks. Is it appropriate for one of the questions I ask them at the end of the interview when they ask me if I have any questions to be about housing? I could reword it as "how do you like living here? " I understand that there's a whole department for housing questions ... what do you guys think?
@TheChocolateDocs6 жыл бұрын
Congrats on getting an interview! It definitely is appropriate especially if you're interviewing at a place that you're not familiar with. You deserve to get opinions from various people. Of course, have 2 or 3 other questions prepared as well. Good luck!

Very helpful videos! Been trying to get good scores on my UK entrance exams (GAMSAT/UKCAT) for years so I can hit interview stage, so these videos definitely help a lot. I was wondering if interviewers would potentially question why it took me as long as it has to finally get to interview stages, and if so, would they be discouraged if it was partly due to my entrance exam results not being high enough? I also have done other degrees over the years to build my resume so I would definitely state those as the main reason.
@TheChocolateDocs6 жыл бұрын
Hi! Once you get to the interview stage, the interviewers want to get to know YOU! They've already seen your scores and experience and they liked you enough to invite you for an interview! So be honest and and be yourself. Good luck!

Don’t interviewers dock you points for saying umm or uhh a lot. I know this a practice video but that’s something I noticed.
@cloudtheavegner10005 жыл бұрын
While yes, you should avoid that, that's not a set in stone rule. Interviewers are people and there are variations among people. You should note that only 7% of communication is verbal. 38% is tone. 55% is non-verbal like your body language. Your tone and non-verbal communication will fulfill the most important aspect of your interview: making you seem personable. Being personable is key to any interview. Many questions are just meant to keep you talking so they can get a feel of you. When you hang out with friends, are you going to remember everything that was said, word for word? If your friend is going through a hard time, how are you more likely to find out? Are they going to tell you or do you feel something is off about them? Watch the video again, on mute, and tell me the feeling you get off of her.
@cloudtheavegner10005 жыл бұрын
Naya one more thing. While saying “um” can you, if you lack pauses you can come off as a robot/rehearsed, which is equally, if not more damaging. That being said, I say it’s better to don’t be afraid to pause mid sentence if you can’t get your thoughts in order as oppose to “um” “you know” and other filler words.
@emmaspracklen75654 жыл бұрын
I don’t really think skin color is a disadvantage. This interview REALLY emphasizes this instead of playing on your personal strengths, which I know you have. I was really REALLY annoyed by this.
@kcake3501 Жыл бұрын
Skin color is a disadvatange especially if the entire panel are caucasians. They expect more of black people, so with black applicants they need to show out with gpas and a great interview.
@newtbrowne83595 жыл бұрын
The interviewer should stand up and greet the candidate, firm handshake and the interviewer was saying "um" to often. This is a poor interview sample.
