I thought it was more about Jesus didn't want to be protected by a weapon or with revenge and anger. If Peter protected Jesus with love and words Jesus would've accepted it.

@@johnseb5856 Jesus isn’t against protecting yourself and loved ones. He even allowed the disciples to carry weapons. It’s the reason you are using a weapon that matters. There are so many times when even protecting yourself isn’t the Godly way of doing things. The world always says to look out for number 1. God often says carry your cross
