If you're looking to play the SwSh DLC I recommend trying out the Pokémon Crowned Sword/Armored Shield mod. Seeing modded Pokémon is always a fun time.

Yes, definitely. I haven't seen many Sword and Shield mods but Crowned Sword and Armored Shield is one that looks really cool. Something I really like about it is how it allows you to explore the Crown Tundra before becoming Champion (something you can't really do in Sword and Shield). I would love for ItsRJ to make a video on it so it can get more exposure.

I think what actually happened is that they added all the DLC mons. I had my doubts since SV uses different character models and more complex animations compared to old games, so it would be a lot harder to add Pokémon than in BDSP.

I think it's weird to say that this mod "Fixes" Scarlet and Violet, when it really just seems like the creator just added things they thought would be cool. I mean the only thing that actually sounded like a fix was the level scaling, but we didn't see that since RJ played in the order you're supposed to do anyway. Lots of things just seemed like a "Let's make this harder" change, but at the same time, due to them doing things like adding more Pokemon to the game like an Urshifu, it kinda came off as it being the same difficulty as the original game. I hope I don't come off as a hater, I did like the video. It's just that saying this mod "Fixed" the game seems like a stretch.

I dunno... If the game as it was was missing things and made easier so those missing parts didn't make it difficult... Then adding back the missing pieces and increasing the difficulty is "fixing" it. It's kind of like saying that repairing a car that was overheating at high speed isn't "fixing" it, because you could have just driven it at lower speeds. If you couldn't make use of the whole experience before, then you CAN afterwards, then you're fixing it, even if it's not actually harder.

Excellent Mod! I've been playing with it the past month and it's so much more fun than the game was originally. I kinda bounced off violet when I first played it last year... A little too slow for not as much reward, variety and challenge. I didn't really have time for it. Coming back to it this summer with it modded, it's more like the experience I had playing Pokémon 25 years ago as a kid, where I'm actually surprised and scrambling from time to time, instead of stomping every trainer and gym without thinking about it. It's not like it's a harder game, really, but it's not like I'm playing on baby mode anymore. Something like this should be a standard option from Gamefreak going forward. Out of the gate, too. I don't want to have to play 60 hours on easy mode just to come back and play the game again the fun way.

I'm sure kids playing this find it hard especially the indigo disk dlc which has Competitive trainers that make even adults struggle. .

The Sprigatito line never had Grassy Surge, it had from launch and still has Protean as it's Hidden Ability. Sword & Shield's Grookey's line had Grassy Surge as it's Hidden Ability.

Yeah Protein is not as good as it once was😔. The ability only changes the Pokémon’s type once and that’s it. So you use a normal type move that Pokémon is a Normal type for the rest of the battle

Compass massively improved the experience for me. Although, last time I was playing I was in the middle of getting stomped by a Youngster before the Ghost Gym... So... It's a little bit of a frustrating time. But it's better than the game being entirely trivial and dull. The bug fixes and full Pokedex is nice, but that there's a difficulty akin to challenge mode and you actually have to think about your team and do some training to progress... That's awesome.

32:26 Combat torque is a fighting type move, and wouldn't be impacted by an air balloon, since all that item does is make you ungrounded. And, since Ceruledge is a ghost type, they must have switched the starmobile's ability to Scrappy, to make it ignore the type table immunity. You can confirm this if you go back and throw a pokemon with trace into it.

The fighting bases starmobile probably had scrappy which lets you hit ghost types with fighting and normal moves

You can’t really fix those without entirely decompiling the game. Also saying that sword and shield animations were good is some insane cope, most of them don’t even have any animation and just move the model of the mon around with some effects

Y'all gotta preface this that the latest compass mod as of writing is not compatible with ScVi 3.0.1 (at least the standalone version). You need to mod it with Trinity (and even that is spotty)

32:14 I don’t know why combat torque hits though it has nothing to do with air balloon. Combat torque is fighting type so it’s unaffected by air balloon but ceruledge is ghost do it should be immune. Idk why it hit, it might just be a glitch

The games arent even that bad with level scaling and difficulty. Also the dex is actually pretty good, the main thing is that its relying on you to make the game enjoyable for yourself, if you like battling then fight the optional trainers they can be pretty hard and work really well for their placement in the game, if you like completing the pokedex you can pretty much do all of it except the paradoxes before the first gym, and if you like challenge runs then great this game is near perfect for it. A lot Pokémon games are made for children and the only real problems with it were the bugs on release which honestly made the game more enjoyable just because of how funny they were, if you dont like the bugs then just play on newest release its a great time!

to me this mod just seems like such a mess, adding ridiculous pokemon to first routes that dont fit, making rarer spawns to common and making every trainer have pokemon higher than your level cap is an unfair buff and is the opposite of balancing a game, its not hard to change iv/ev spreads and movesets to make trainer harder, rather than boosting their levels by 50% and calling it a day
