You can join my Discord here: discord.gg/EtvkZwVJ8U Consider supporting me on Patreon: www.patreon.com/randomsageless Hello Everyone, I hope you enjoyed this video, it's a major shift in direction from my normal content and I'm thinking of making other history based videos that go over neat little stories. I also spent about a month working on my skills as an editor and scriptwriter, I may have gone a bit overboard so please tell me if the transitions and animations were too much. Going forward it'll probably mellow out as I was trying a lot of different things. While there really isn't a lot of scrutiny in the Minecraft community about getting claims made in videos correct, it's still important to me, and it's necessary to warn that most of the video comes from Paul Spooner's perspective and what he's said about it, as far as I know Notch and any others haven't really chimed in, so it's unlikely this story is 100% accurate, still, I try to find evidence of anything I say, a lot of the citations on the MC wiki are broken links or not relevant to what's written so I try to leave all that out. So hopefully it's like.. >90% accurate!

What happened to modding content in Minecraft? I know it's still huge but I don't think it's as big as it used to. There used to be so many mod reviews but nowadays it's not as popular, I don't see modded minecraft series being as popular the same way a few years ago. Is it because the vanilla game is good enough for content then a few years ago when the normal game kinda needed mods to actual make content long term. I think the constant updates kinda kill mods too since code changes and you have to manually update the mods. The modding API on java is abandoned but I think it's being carried on bedrock in spirit (probably because of the marketplace) even though modding isn't as good as on java.

In some of the earliest days of modding, you had to compile the jar yourself, even if the code was already supplied This is one of the reasons behind the forge modloader Then, the only thing that you had to modify manually was removing or modifying the META-INF file Now, we have everything automated, and installers or clients handle all of the hard work of installing mods But modding itself is still somewhat daunting for those who are inexperienced, even with tools like MCreator

Here is a tip for making tall trees. 1- Place down an oak sapling. I'm unsure this will work with others. 2- Make a small ring 4 blocks above it, with a 1 block gap in it for the tree to grow. If 3 above, you get a round tree. 3- Bonemeal until it grows, or just wait.

3:48 A mod is anything that modifies the original copy. Technically resource packs are also mods, but by the way people use the word mod a resource pack is different than a mod. Because of what the word mod means you'd be right to call them that
@imluctor5997 Жыл бұрын
for the plugin vs mod part: A plugin changes the behavior of things. For example you can already use the chat and send messages in it. So you could code a plugin to for example be able to start a timer that shows up in the chat. A mod on the other end is litterly changing/adding code to the actual game therefore requiring the client (people who want to use the mod) to download it. In plugins we use things like events to for example detect when you right click a npc to send you to a game like skywars.
@imluctor5997 Жыл бұрын
you could still modify your server with plugins to make something that's already used in a mod. But you can't add blocks with plugins so some servers out there use resource packs (sometimes requiring optifine) to make it feel like a mod. I believe with optifine you have the ability to have for example 2 textures for a diamond sword. If the one sword has a specific name added to it the texture will change. So you can have like 10 diamond swords with each their unique texture and you can then configure the plugin to do something different with each sword based on their name. Items also support NBT data its like adding a specific data to an item and it can also be useful to do something different depending on what NBT data the item has.
