I walk my dog around the church circle most days. Kingsport is a pretty cool town, and I've lived all over... east coast, west coast, texas, europe, chicago. I like Kingsport.

I’m also a fan of Kingsport, and eastern Tennessee for that matter. Didn’t have my hopes up the highest originally as I arrived towards the region but the impression I got far exceeded my perceptions. Nice area with much charm

I spent one night in Kingsport years ago. I went down with a buddy to pick up his wife who was there. Pretty nice looking place. A lot of beautiful scenery surrounding it.

A great video on the Model City! I know your time was short in Kingsport, but there are a few other places you should have "checked out." Across the Holston River from Long Island, you should have seen the Netherland Inn. This was a "hotel" or boarding house along the Great Stage Road.....which basically connected Washington DC and Nashville, TN! Along the Great stage road (Netherland Inn Rd) there is the Exchange Place which was a huge farm and the "town" of Edens Ridge, where travelers would "exchange" their horses for fresh ones. There are still some historical buildings at Exchange Place....even an old post office where money was exchanged! As far as the Holston River, the reason it was so "swift" is due to the TVA Dam a few miles up river.

Oh for sure. Nearly every city I go to, these areas hold enough to fill a second video if I had all the time in the world. What great extra information about Kingsport!

Pal Barger the founder of pals met and studied with Ray Kroc in the 40s or 50s I believe, the one you were at was the first one to open, all the rest are drive thru only except for the 2nd location which is walk in as well
@TheCoverageProject

That’s really interesting! As an outsider, I would generally be led to believe that someone could enter any Pal’s location just like this one. It truly felt like going back in time to a classic mid-20th century fast food place!

@@TheCoverageProjectseems a bit dead to me, Though I’m probably not the greatest demographic for this place, despite it being ingrained into me. Hearing stories from my parents during the late 90s at Fort Henry Mall and other locations that were busy and seeing them basically a hollow shell and nearly empty definitely isn’t a pleasant feeling. they seemed like they had a blast. Now I’m there age when that stuff happened and it just seems a bit “dead” in a way. Or I’m just looking in the wrong places. Not a bad city from my experience, but wish there was more. The church circle thing is definitely still weird to me since the religion having so many denominations with different people seems like it would be hard to interact with others since their practices are different. They’re all protestant denominations which I find as a cheaper version of Christianity where it’s too bland. And people probably will use their religious views to hide behind.

Great input! I agree that there can be two correct pronunciations depending on the geographic area in which one is raised. That’s the beauty of dialectal variety. Of course though as a northerner traveling south, I’m not going to grasp the local pronunciation until I learn from others, thus I default to my own.

First time seeing the channel. Not too bad. I'll watch a few more and if the content is consistent, I'll subscribe. The only critique is that you might want to purchase a gimbal mount for that camera. The sound is great though, which seems to always be the bane of every small youtube channel, so good job on that.

Very pleased to have you intrigued about this content, regardless of whether subscribing or not! All are welcome who love to learn about the world in any manner. Content wise, I have loads of content that has yet to be edited, and I try to upload whenever I have internet. Quite a priority for me to turn this channel into a great archive. As far as the camera itself, I’ve looked into a better stabilizer mount. Might do well to improve the shakiness which happens sometimes. Been on a budget lately but that has been on my mind! Once again, welcome aboard if you so please!

There are lots of opportunities in Kingsport. But, here's the catch: The cost of safe/clean housing is exploding and the wages paid by local companies haven't kept up with it. The town has bike lanes, if you dare to risk your life on them. 'Kingsporters' dont drive too good. LOL.
