Greetings from Massachusetts. I never had a Roadrunner but I did have a Dodge Dart. Helluva car. Worked at a Stop & Shop. Every time I go into one I leave a piece of my soul behind.

The Modern Lovers were Massachusetts Homeboys, weren't they? And yes, I too have "Retail Nightmares!"😁

Jonathan Richman was a local celebrity when I was growing up just south of Boston. He even dated a very young classmate of mine, who couldn't have been more than 15 at the time. The song "Party in the Woods Tonight" has always reminded me of where I come from and how there really wasn't anything else to do when you were a teenager in Scituate, Mass. in the 1970s. When I hear "Roadrunner" I'm back on the old Route 3-A headed outa town and lookin' for trouble. My late dad was a cop. I had to leave town to have any fun at all. lol. Great throwback. Thanks!

Anthony Bourdain's favorite band. Even featured in Roadrunner, the movie about the world travelling chef.

There's a fellow whose voice I sincerely miss! Anthony Bourdain! How someone so unhappy could make such GREAT television...?

@@thannaske5371 He had a unifying voice that showed compassion from every corner of the world and had a heart of danger. The Roadrunner, the eternal traveler RIP.

On a more positive note, I've been up and down your channel and love what I hear. You got any Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush? I can't get enough of the guy yet I talk to every rockhead "Never heard of 'em."
@thannaske5371 Жыл бұрын
@@jimkon1479 Frank Marino! Have you heard the apocryphal Frank Marino story involving a construction accident, a coma wherein he was visited by the shade of Jimi Hendrix, and he supposedly awakened with the ability to play the guitar? I heard that story so many times in the 1970s! But you're right, FM & Mahogany Rush are just one of those exceptional 70s hard rock bands that have just sort of "slipped through the cracks" of history! I could definitely play a track from FM&MR down the line! Thanks for tuning in and showing an interest, I really appreciate it!😁

@@thannaske5371 Just don't bring up that story with Frank 😂 I first heard about him through some promotional video featuring Joe Bonamassa. Yeah, Frank is humble, not big on self promotion so his name's not out there despite being one of the best. Been listening to He's Calling on repeat.

The whole album is great! Roadrunner is the classic but there are plenty of good songs on the album as well.

This is good BUT, "I'm a Little Airplane" is so much MORE FUN.................. Now't like being "out of it" and running around with your arm's out, singing at the top of your voice's..... LOL.....

Nobody listens to Radio anymore. Why is that? Because of their restrictive playlists. I remember College Radio and Independent radio playing all the new music. The commercial stations are horrible.
@thannaske5371 Жыл бұрын
My focus is on the free-form, unregulated radio! Commercial stations ARE just terrible! It's like they don't realize there are many more than just 250 classic rock songs! Stick around, I'll keep trying to throw interesting songs out there. Thank you so much for tuning in!
