Maybe compare it to Jax and Sheen: Does Jax like Sheen? Definitely yes, so Trinity and Iceborn Gauntlet too are very good on him (and Lich Bane if you are AP Jax enjoyer). Does he need it or does he only function with Sheen? No. I play Jax Jgl and sometimes I build it (either 2nd, 3rd or 4th) but sometimes I skip it completely. I have similar success with Trinity Jax compared to Non-Trinity Jax.

Im a midlaner and I actually really liked Seraphine mid. I was very dissapointed when riot yeeted her to be a botlaner only.

The suite of mid champions he outlined basically have made me play league less and less and less over the last year. I like playing mages, and i just never feel powerful anymore. I didn't even finish my ranked placements this split. it feels like i spend too much time in the league not having fun while playing my favorite champs.

@@unhaix707 I get what you feel. I too went through abandoning my old mains because they just don't feel fun anymore. If you still wanna stick with league, I would recommend picking every champ you don't have much experience with and just trying them out. There is a high chance you find something fun

It's not a specific character though. It's a class of characters and a playstyle that the modern meta favors. Switch the subjects around, and imagine you're saying "When designing a support, you have to make sure they don't feel bad to play against AD carries", but also recently, it might be something like "When deciding which support to play, if you can't handle mage bot lanes like ziggs, you're going to have a bad time in the current meta" and that's an even closer example.

I seriously don't understand his argument that a champ like Kayle needs a higher winrate to be balanced. It seems to be an issue of agency, and lower agency characters need higher winrate to compensate for that? Or is it a skill ceiling thing, where only a few players are reaching the true potential of the champ?

It's about agency; typically when he talks about champs needing high win rates it will be because of agency

Kayle doesn’t have as much agency over the game as other characters, so if she has a normal winrate, it means her wins/losses are moreso decided by the teammates than herself (which is a result of her being potentially weak as a champion in those metas), whereas with a higher winrate it means that she is likely influencing her own games more. can you maybe rework morgana ? she has few fundamental problems - her r encourages her to go into fight but she lacks the durability to do so unless she builds zhonya which is a problem since now you only have to run away. + her healing is kinda low good way to fix her reliance on zhonyas would be giving her shield cleanse(from everything except knockback) and while the shield holds she has damage reduction of all non magic damage(increased by number of enemy champions. but she cannot use e on allies anymore.

why should they nerf them? ignoring the fact that riot nerfs yone and sylas fairly often, they’re just hard to deal with for some champions. all three of these champions have high skill ceilings and they’re also melee champions being balanced against ranged champions who often have early lane priority against them.

What a brain dead take to have. He is a Rioter understanding that Yasuo Yone and Sylas have incredible carry potential and have a high play rate. So champions need to be great against them in laning phase to feel viable otherwise odds are you run into them and feel weak if you are not good enough to stop them from taking over a game. That's not to say the champions are bad just that people are terrible at playing against them.
