Did anybody see the T3 Pocket radio from 1958 as an inspiration for the iPod?

Ever since Dieter Rams left Braun when Gillet acquired the company and wanted new designs just for the sake of marketing, many of their product designs now don't have that timeless aspect to it. It's flashy with curves as if it's going on a racing track, and unnecessarily loud.

Embrace yourself. to design, invent and improve quality. Life starts when we begin to make it happen. Just went through Braun's entire international catalogue and it’s a bit sad to see how few of the products they make actually reflect what they were talking about in the movie. Mostly just generic, loud and over-designed objects, that apart from the logo have very little in common with their wonderful historic products and ethos.

Yeah it's sad to see they lost Dieter Ram's elegance in his sense of simplicity. Honestly doesn't make sense to me when companies like Apple (love or hate them) are definitely inspired by Dieter's designs

This guy isn't a bad interviewer but the edits need to focus less on him and more on the interviewee. We don't even know who the interviewer is, why is there so much focus on him in these edits?

I think Braun intended this to seem like it was 'his' vlog where he is taking us along his journey to learn more about design.... but you are so right! Without any context or information about the interviewer, he seems more like a distraction than the intended "protagonist" of this series.

Braun is just a shadow if its former self. The products have become low in quality standarts since they outsourced their productions and sold their name in license to others. It's a shame. Good design also needs high standarts in quality.

It’s sad today they’re only really known for shavers. They have let the design slip badly since rams day and are produced in Asia now so low quality. The only thing that’s still good is the braun audio speakers but that’s not changed since rams design.

@lordbalzamore76925 жыл бұрын
@@iAmTheSquidThing I totally agree, the new designs don't pay the same respect to colour or form, they're too focused on appearing masculine. The reason the old designs are still popular isn't because of hipsters, it's because they're timeless designs - can't be said of the modern designs.
@tombjornebark3 жыл бұрын
@@lordbalzamore7692 You dont know how much I agree with that statement. They have not adopted Dieters principles. Good design is honest and they show of faux metal all over the product shown. Good design is unobtrusive then logo on the front. Play with patterns, Dieter would have strangled the guy.
