Or did you just return to the religion of your childhood, because it was comforting? As an atheist myself, I'm really curious about what convinced another atheist. I was raised Christian, myself, though I don't remember ever believing it. But I've been surrounded by Christians all my life. As far as I can tell, none of them have anything distinguishable from wishful-thinking backing up the beliefs they were _all_ (all the ones I know personally, I mean) were just taught to believe as a child (at the same time they readily accepted Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny). @@Bill_Garthright No, I haven't returned to my ,, religion of childhood", even though I grew up in a Christian environment, I had been an atheist for my entire life. In fact, I used to be exactly like you are right now. Condemning every believer for not being able to provide mere facts and logic to ground their faith on. And that is exactly the problem. If you tie, whether you believe or not, to some 100% clear proof, if you're that hardened in your heart, you're not gonna find God. I suppose you're not gonna like my answer, but in order to find him you need to have an open heart and be ready to open up for the possibility no matter the factual proof, and that's what happened to me luckily. I opened up, studied different religions for myself, such as Islam, Hinduism, Christianity etc. In fact, I even harded myself up against Christianity ESPECIALLY because I thought I knew all about it, for it was the very religion that surrounded me the better part of my life. But when I eventually started to deal more with the life of Jesus and the profoundness of his teachings (and this is the part you would probably rip my head off) God gave a sign, some kind of ,,mental flash", hardly describable. From that moment on I knew for myself that Christ is Lord, and due to my searching and starting to accept him as the possibility for truth, he could reveal himself to me. I have been a Christian ever since, and like my comment says, I still struggle from time to time, but as much as I try to find different explanations, I'm always ending up with Jesus again. You don't need to tell how ridiculous that sounds, again, I thought almost exactly like you seem to do right now. But my testimony isn't the only one of a former atheist. There are more than enough atheist testimonies here on YT, just look it all up. In general you should keep searching and conclude for yourself whether you believe something or not, as before, I claim for myself that God revealed him to me because I was open for it. Maybe I'm mentally ill or sth, if that is your desired conclusion. But if it actually is, then I can basically promise you, that you won't find God, no matter how hard you try.

They believe he's only a prophet of allah, and that allah has no son, and that not even those who follow him can call him their heavenly father because he calls them slaves not children in the Quran.
