@@IdBustInside You people do realize that the _entire story_ since Stain showed up has been deconstructing the idea of a single symbol of anything right? There will be no symbols because everyone should have the ability to embody these virtues as a collective. That's where the story is heading. (I haven't read the manga but it's plainly obvious by now) All Might is Captain America and Superman and the story is explaining why having these singular heroes being the sole symbols representing truth, justice and the American way is foolish. Bucky and Falcon should be able to as well without having to don the mantle. DC has tons of patriotic heroes like Uncle Sam, Stargirl, Supergirl, Star Spangled Kid etc etc etc and yet it's Superman who acts as the sole symbol of these virtues?! (which is dumb because Uncle Sam is _literally_ the American Spirit, in both definitions of the term)

I remember when this arc came out in the manga, Horikoshi-sensei was getting death threats for this. Feel free to hate Endeavor as a character, but I hope people can't deny that he is a well-written character. “Watch me” Endeavor isn’t reassuring with just his words like All Might is and even his presence is a bit unsettling but his actions spoke volumes in this fight. His tenacity to be the best and to not give up in this fight was his symbol. Not really a symbol of peace I think he is more a symbol of courage.

The reason why we feel for Endeavor is because he’s a more believable and relatable character. This in my opinion a major flaw with super heroes that with their purity of intentions and strength become too fictional. Man this truly was an amazing episode. It made you really feel for Endeavor with him trying to make amends to his family. And watching him fight the nomu while sacrificing himself. As everyone watched his fight and how many who were at the scene were scared. The fight was a prime example that heroes are one of the most selfless people and despite them having quirks they are also human.

The Noumu isn't a personification of Endavour, but of what Endavour was trying to create, through his children and by his own efforts. He did not burn up a symbol of himself as much as he burned away his obsessive quest for power, leaving only the man Endavour behind. He burned away what he wanted to become, what was left behind was someone who could personify both what it means to be a hero and a symbol, as well as a father and husband, the real Endavour. The reveal that Dabi is Endavours supposedly dead son is comming, we can assume he died as a result of Endavour trying to create a sucessor to himself to surpass no1. That he "died" due to overuse of Endavour's quirk, and subsequently Endavour tried to create a child who did not have that fault, which lead to Todoroki.

Before this episode I never realized how All-Might was in a way seen like a god, and all other heroes and even most villians acknowledged this, that is why he was the symbol of peace. I also didn't think much about Endeavor trying to beat him and be number one, but after this season finale I understand the credit he deserves and the perseverence he showed, never giving up on his goal. Endeavor is sort of the story of a brave mortal trying to surpass a god. Great character development from BnHA definetly as well as the animation.
