Dan, add to what you were talking about with lack of resources at 9:30 and triage. I think it is important for people to understand the concept of a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) which was very concisely explained to me as: "there are more victims than there are responders". In these situations when we we address respiratory drive as a binary yes/no it is because if we devote the limited resources to work a respiratory/cardiac arrest, we may not find the "relatively straightforward" injury like uncontrolled arterial bleeding which can be very quickly stabilized with a tourniquet and that person may bleed out as a result. All this is to say: Folks, take a basic CPR class, understand how to use a tourniquet CORRECTLY to stop major hemorrhage. The more resources we have the more chance we give our fellow riders around us when these events occur. If you already have your EMT take a TECC course. They are incredibly helpful on MCIs. These videos are incredible and I can't wait to dive into your courses and practice with the training drills booklet. Paramedic from Buffalo, NY here and I wish I had firefighters like you on every call! Stay safe out there folks!

The reason is for fun. Which is fine, but accept the consequences! If I’m going twice as fast as traffic and a car doesn’t see me, that’s on me. Even if It was my lane, if I’m going way faster than the limit, I’m at fault with the driver for not seeing me so why the hell should I be mad at them? If u ride a motorcycle, u MUST take the mindset that EVERY single vehicle on the road can’t see u at all, EVER. That’s how I ride, every time. It’s 100% the job of the rider to not get hit. Period. If u ride like that, u lower ur chances of being hit, bc ur not leaving the job to anyone else.

Hell, I remember riding AM rush hour on the expressway. I wouldn’t think of doing that now. I pick my ride times now based on traffic. And I do more and more expressway riding: no intersections and turns made for 120+mph. Two lane roads we all love to ride are dangerous.

What you're describing is a uniquely US type of road/street called the stroad. It's basically a high-speed urban highway with wide lanes, frequent intersections, and huge advertising signs in order to catch drivers attention, with speed limits set to 55 mph but people commonly go 10 mph over. However, stroads are perfectly designed for huge crashes since speeds are high, drivers are necessarily distracted since it's a commercial area, there's many pullouts, and there's double turn lanes...all perfect conditions to encourage drivers to go as fast as possible, and crash as often as possible.

21:57 - I have a note. In lot of European countries you must have fire fire extinguisher in your car. If every driver have one, you can use them lot and extinguish a fire. 1kg ones are really cheap, something around $10. Bikers may assume that, because every car has one, maybe someone could help. And for last reason, no everyone have insurance for this type of damage (in my country all drivers and riders must have insurance that covers damage to others, but really some have that typy that covers my stupidity, thiefts or burn). I think always is better to put fire down if I can. I have one situation when I helped put car fire down to someone, it was small fire, but if noone extinguish that, his car will burn to the ground.

I ride BMW 1200RT with semi linked brakes and found light rear in corners(and LEAN) gets me thru safely without much pucker. Only complaint about your channel-too many advertisements. 15:45 Three mistakes: 1) Correct position is 1, to the left of the lane closer to the wall. Be seen in side mirrors! 2) Jerky position changes may feel fun to you but it makes it impossible for car drivers to read your intentions. NOBODY HAS INSTANTANEOUS AWARENESS, WE ALL LOOK FOR PATTERNS! Get that in your skull pronto. 3) Slow down and avoid overtaking in curves unless you make eye contact with the driver in the side mirror and are absolutely sure that they'll stay in their lane. Just being aware of the open lane pattern is not much use unless you're planning your ride.

I quickly lean forward to eliminate the blind spot when I check my mirrors. It seems faster and safer than turning my head away from the hazrd infront of me. I also quickly check for traffic behind me when I have to brake hard to see what might be coming up on me when that is the best option or combin of options.

The tail, the back, and so many other rides around Maggie Valley NC. Being from Roanoke VA we have plenty of roads around here that are as good and some better. I have also found another series from Ride to Food? and am helping plan rides for this summers week long stay in Maggie Valley to include the devils whip and little switzerland. What does all this have to do with dandan? well let me say this. As a lead I am responsible for the group. These videos help a lot in what to do and what not to do. I can pass this on to those that ride behind me. also myself. I always wear a full face helmet, boots, jeans, (just ordered actual riding jeans with pads, thanks dan) leather cut and riding padded jacket. If anything weak my fingerless gloves but i do have full on gloves as well. I do not ride beyond my comfort level and when leading actually ride slower. I have no desire to ride at record speed levels. Heres my take, a lot of these are the riders fault? everyone wants to be a max twist and end up like him..... I have watched another series of a young lady that i have seen riding with a t shirt, jeans and shoes. Only things thats a plus is her full face helmet so at least her face will survive if she lays it down. People if your going to put videos out there set and example of what to do not what not to do. Always assume that no one else knows how to drive, slow down and scan each intersection, leave a buffer zone around you so you have time to safely find a way out of a situation, assume that no one can see you, and keep your speed down. If everyone took this driver course we would cut accidents by 75%. 98% of accidents are preventable by defensive driving. One of the biggest ones is counting to 5 before going on a green light. 100% of Red light runners, run the red light within 3 seconds after it turns red. Counting to 5 prevents an accident.

@DanDanTheFireman do you think it's safe to listen to music while you ride?

I KNEW that first clip looked familiar! That is one of the worst sections in that area. You really do have to gun it because there are almost NO gaps to turn into that cycle gear, but you can't just floor it like that dude did.

23:22 That L-Plater squid needed to literally "read the road"! First he was travelling on the striped markings which wasn't a lane, then you can clearly see the arrow on the turning lane in the opposite direction. So the driver would have been sensibly checking for traffic by looking to their left, and definitely not expecting some noob scooter squid to approach from the wrong direction. The rider was lucky the driver was going slow

11:27 Good drivers will sometimes miss their turn; bad drivers will _never_ miss their turn. Assume everyone else is a bad driver.

When you see 120-130 on some speedometers that might be in Kilometers per hour which is roughly 65-70mph
@romanjohnson81289 ай бұрын
yup, but for that kind of road? that's got to be at least 30 over the speed limit
@iofthefox27239 ай бұрын
@@romanjohnson8128 That's what i think. Most of the bikers are way too fast for the road conditions and situations.

Domesticated and farm animals on roads is a common thing in Africa. Even in the cities. I commute on the N2 into Cape Town which is a major metro freeway and we regularly have goats and cattle grazing on the side of the road or crossing the road.

The driver at about 12:00 was such a moron. One of the basic things they need to teach in drivers ed is if you almost don't make your exit, don't rush to get to it, wait to take the next exit. Don't do what that driver did. They even tore off part of the guard rail in their hurry, they shouldn't have their license after pulling something like that

Multiple riders in a pack not maintaining a buffer zone between riders are a major fail. Keep your front and back buffer at two to three seconds so you have a way out.

in sweden your RESQ is instead called ABCS A = andning (breathing) B = blödning (bleeding) C = chock S = signalera (signal as in call 112 or american 911) it's our priority in helping, we rather focus on a person not breathing than a person breathing but bleeding or whatever. and calling emergency is the last priority and usually is something we do after somewhat having control of the situation or let someone else do it
