ConeOfArc: I 1st questioned this in the Disney film Enchanted. The cast sings a song that's about 4 minutes long, yet every other line cuts to another part of New York City. So, either they sing the song multiple times in different locations or stop singing in 1 location then go to another location to continue singing the next part of the song.

By any chance you recall one exactly like this one? Usually is the guy talking to the crew or partner in the same location and cutting to the places he's mentioning while the narration continues, sometimes they are also in said locations already executing the plan parallel to the narration. I honestly don't remember a famous one like this to the point it felt kind of odd hearing the sentences continue while the locations changed.

Nick Cage tells his buddy, in the National Archives, that he’s gonna steal the Declaration of Independence, and then next scene they’re sitting at the Lincoln memorial and his buddy picks up the conversation like, “what do you mean???” Dude that’s like a 20+ minute walk! Did they just walk in silence the whole time or rent scooters? I burst out laughing the last time I watched it .

Well usually the music parts of musicals are story devices and not meant to be things that are happening in the universe

Diegesis. if a song is diagetic the characters are actually singing but if its nondiegetic the song is just a device to convey either the character's inner thoughts or a normal conversation. so when the characters change location midverse they werent actually midverse. using moana as an example the song "where you are" is a song that starts when shes a small child and by the end of the song shes aged like ten years because the song was meant to condense every conversation these two characters have had about this particular subject over the span of a decade because it is very common in longterm relationships to basically come back to the same conversation over the span of 10 years.

I love that a lot of your videos tend to strive from the comedy in adding realism to movie tropes. everyone at some point as seen a montage in a movie and thought "so did they like drive for an hour to get there just to say one thing?" but no one has ever gone through an acted it out before which is the reason this video and all your other videos are so good. just real life situations shoved into common movie tropes. (tl;dr you guys should have a way bigger following)

Oh man, that bit about the relationship at 3:59 hit hard. I'm a teacher and my wife is a minister, so her schedule is a lot more flexible then mine. She almost always makes my lunches because she says she wants to and says (rightfully) that it takes her two seconds to do while she makes hers as opposed to me taking 5+ minutes. I've lightly protested on occasionally, but of course I'm grateful for it.. But last week, she had a bad multi-lobar pneumonia last week, so I've been running triage at home as well as single parent duties with my kid who has a terrible case of being three years old. After 4 years, I broke down sobbing, realizing I'm a little baby man who needs his big strong wife to make his lunches (while she's not currently sick of course) after all. My mind and body are weak.
