This is actually a cookin soul drum kit called lo-bap vol. 2

Filter your drums through filters. You can use plugins on any DAW, or, you can use machines (SP404 for ex). Make great beats!

Honestly dude, I've listened to a lot of your beats, and kudos for effort, but you have a LOT to learn. First of all, if you want to try and play in 9th Wonder's domain you gotta dig waaaaaay harder than that. Stay away from the obvious household names like the Stylistics, Al Green etc. Don't be lazy. Quality trumps quantity, always. Furthermore, even though your sound selection for the drums is dope, your timing is considerably off. You literally sound like a novice drummer with bad rhythm. Perhaps use drum breaks instead? If you learn compression and EQ well enough, you will never need to awkwardly tap in drums ever again because drum breaks are 🔥 On another note, I'd stay away from soul samples period, unless you find something abstract and extremely dope, because it is an overused and utterly raped subgenre. If I were in your shoes I'd work with more open samples from different genres. In general, you literally have about 1.1% freedom when making a "soul beat"... but if you sample some progressive or psychedelic shit from the 70s or 80s, your freedom levels hover at the 90% mark. Not only will that be more challenging but it will also make you a better beatmaker over time. Leave soul beats to the likes of Kev Brown or 9th Wonder. Because no one can compete with them, and honestly I'm glad. I prefer Alchemist type vibes anyway
