He researches and finds out what Billy likes, and then steals, defiles it, and disinterestedly flaunts it in front of Billy. If he just did that with Billy's loved ones with a bunch of henchmen, he'd be far more feared. Oh dear, it seems it was left soiled by my men when used it to smash grandmother's corpse. It was so amazing I couldn't hold back my tinkling down over the remains..."

He does both, really. When he goes up against Von Helping, the frustration really shows. The fact that he lost he nice house, flying lair, and almost all of his henchmen because Sgt Hatred blew up his stuff up and had to move to friggin' New Jersey really hurt. Then, he spent most of his trust fund on renovating a house that he would've been better off burning down and building another. Worse, even though he burned down Venture's home, that jackass got a better one.

This isn't the first time he has had to play the system to get what he wants. In Season 3, the Monarch had to take a few lame arches before he could take Dr Venture, but his wife managed to work out loopholes and had Jonas Jr assigned as his arch, and then provoked him into disproportionate aggression, thus meaning that the Monarch could arch Rusty again proper. Besides, he has shown tremendous potential, and most likely Dr Mrs the Monarch and Red Death sing his praises on the council, knowing just how important it is to arch Venture and how far he is prepared to go and the amount of legwork he is prepared to do.

To be honest, St. Cloud has the potential to be a really dramatic villain. He could arrive on the scene with lines like "Today's forecast will be overcast with sunny spells, but mostly... St. Cloud!". Also, if he collects all these relics and memorabilia from TV shows and movies, then it only makes sense he might also collect a few famous death traps as well; he could work those into his repertoire. Or he could make his own death trap where he would vacuum seal Billy like a baseball card, and then say "I'm afraid you won't be mint condition. I'm no expert, but I'd say you and your albino would rank as a 1.5 on the CGC grade."

Villains like Red death and Monstroso(not sure if I am spelling it right, but I am referring to the big guy that Billy did heart transplant on) are able to actually talk and walk as true villains because reasons. For Monstroso, dude is huge and could kill most by merely stepping on them, yet he handle things like a mafia godfather. As for Red Death; got to respect a guy like him preferring inexpensive means of killing individuals, brownie points for finding someone to love and love him as well as able to have a child.

Billy manage to do a successful heart transplant on Monstroso while being aware that Monstroso is a big time criminal, it is plausible for Billy to shoot St Cloud no problem. But, considering Billy and St. Cloud are level one Antagonist/Protagonist, a rule/code of no killing each other, hence the big villain program while Billy and White get help from Brock and Rusty.

Wow, when is it going to be revealed that 24 was just holding 21 back in life. To say nothing of the vendetta that spawned his metamorphosis into "knife-toting badass," ever since he put 24 behind him he's: Become best friends with his boss, moved up to #2 in his chosen field, and went toe-to-toe with Brock Samson *and LIVED!* Say what you want to about 24, the dude was human poison..... hell! He's part of the reason that 21 even *became* a henchman in the first place (that, and Gary looked more senatorial as a child presenting a flag than the senator did as....y'know, a senator)

Yes, 21's accomplished a lot since 24's death, but I think that has more to do with his death creating the drive and impetus to do more than the fact that 24 was holding him back. Ultimately 24 provided 21 with a friend, and together the two didn't have much impetus to do more with their life beyond that. If 21 had somehow become a henchman without 24, it's rather unlikely that he would have risen through the ranks like he did, and much more likely he would have just stayed an average henchman, just lonelier. 24's death instead necessitated growth in 21's drive for vengeance. It wasn't necessarily a healthy growth, and 21's been able to direct it more productively now that he's been able to move on from 24's death, but 24's life and death is still a big part in helping him become the man he is today.

It's not just money. Monarch started out with money, enough to afford a crazy floating cocoon fortress that got blown up and repaired on *multiple* occasions. It takes more than money, it takes an unrequited, blinding hatred of another, and the skill to weild it without ruining yourself. And even then, I don't think it raised him up much higher than a 6 or a 7. High enough to rank him with Venture, a level 6 or 7 protagonist, if for no other reason than for what he could pull out of his father's (a level 9 or 10 to be sure) basement.

I see so much conversation and cutaway moments (cold opens, end credits, and flash backs mid episode) that screams any "season finale" will definitely see time travel involved. To say nothing of Billy and Rusty _literally_ exiting a time machine to be like, "Oh crap, we're changing the past again," and dash back off (fun thoughts that all attempts to stop catastrophes are what cause them in the first place, right down to creating the villain lifestyle that plagues Rusty so much in life, getting misconstrued for a villain and henchman in the past) Malcolm doesn't remember _all_ the details because of the trauma from the plane crash (his parents death as well as any injury to the head he may have suffered), and possibly the milk weed poisoning. Rusty doesn't remember because, as a clone with implanted memories, he only remembers the few times Malcolm was with him at the compound (and that picture of them together as kids surprising them implies as much) because that's when Rusty would have been in his "learning bed" If he's not recording memories every night (globe trotting with Malcolm as kids), then Rusty won't remember all the times they were out together (not as strongly as he remembers the moment itself, anyway), because the memory recording beds aren't on the jet or the X2 (Hank and Dean slept in bunk beds on the yacht)

Christopher McCulloh has admitted one of the biggest changes came in "Trial of The Monarch" because due to being sick when recording that episode he made the Monarch voice sound more nasally and aggigated instead of theatrical and staged as much as he had been previously but since that voice wound up sounding funnier and speedier with the recording it's the one he went with. Of course the voice has more normalized due to performing it over several seasons that yeah it can sound a lot more casual then you would of gotten years before. Like yeah Monarch could make nerdier references but compare say how he talked about Depach Mode in "Tag Sale You're It" compared to how he sounds in this episode.

I kinda hate how St. Cloud got really flanderized in this episode. Yeah, he was always a joke and unintimidating but he did have a few villainous qualities such as his villain monologue from season 5 episode 1 (even Watch and Ward were impressed), holding HELPeR hostage and trying to get Billy to eat pennies, tying Pete up and attempting to leave him out in the sun, etc. This episode basically made him into a mentally challenged child.

The way he acts has nothing to do with his sexuality. It's only people who want to make a constant statement about their sexuality that let it change their personality. Those people are just annoying
