Sounds like my grandparents when they bought their 58 brougham new with the brushed aluminum roof. My grandma hated it till she saw the automatic trunk lid and the little "powder makeup kit" in the glove compartment. She drove it till she died in 1996 at 102 years old.

@@alansmith7833 If I can drive a big car like that when im 80, ill count myself lucky. She stuck to backroads to town. I don't think she went past 40mph in 30 years which really saved the car mechanically. Its still all original in pristine condition inside and out. Im very lucky she gave it to me in the will so I get to look at it and drive it to work once or twice a week when the weather calls for it.

A lot of shit Gas Monkey builds is on a strict time crunch, and it's because of their reputation with things like that that customers go to them for it. Also, I'm sure the guy had to fork up some cash to back a demand like that. Plus, there's a lot of things in life that if you miss a deadline the client gets a discount or something similar. Getting charged $10k/day is just a different way of saying the client's bill is $10k less per day. And them getting it done late would mean being unable to work on other projects, causing lost revenue there too. Finally, it's a TV show, the time deadline and/or $10k/day could easily just be bullshit.
