There are covers and then there's this. HARUNA has simply mastered power/thrash metal. The pure fury from start to finish on this was the most intense yet from her and this completely explains the level-up in her peddle work she displayed in NAMELESS WARRIOR. The M^3 guitar renditions were the cleanest I've ever heard on this and MIYAKO and MIDORI adding their signature touches just makes this the best cover ever IMO. Lastly ASAMI...damned if she didn't outdo herself too. She absolutely did this song justice and the harmonization with the guitars with that final flurry from HARUNA at the end gives me chills 🤘🐺🤘

I've listened to every song by Lovebites probably hundreds of times over the past year and I can honestly say two things : this was Haruna's best drum work, and these were Asami's edgiest vocals. The guitar solos from Midori and Miyako are always supreme so I knew they would match the original, but the drumming and vocals were a pleasant surprise.

Some people are a little hard of hearing, this is arguably the best cover of this track bar none. Get your ears tested. Asami isn't trying to emulate Halford, he is ina league - galaxy of his own. She did what she does best, make it her own. The drumming,next level, M&M&M, Need I say more.

Great reaction my friend. Lovebites is putting themselves on the map with that rendition. Sure, no one can match Halford's vocals, but Asami did an admiral job. Midori and Miyako on guitar were spectacular, just as good or better than Tipton and Downing. And of course Haruna on drums and Miho on bass were also mind blowing. These ladies are the real deal. I was going to ask when you would get some Lovebites merch on your wall, because they deserve it. I do wonder who the 6th person was in that band photo though, because the band is only five members (now four).

I consider Painkiller to be one of the greatest metal songs ever written and they've done a good job. Rob Halford's singing is a bit too iconic to beat, but I like it overall and Asami did pretty well. Instrumentally this is amazing, but that should be expected from Lovebites. I think I prefer their Eagle Fly Free cover though, which I probably like better than the original tbh. Also covers are fun and all, but I would rather see you listen to their original songs.

The lead singer is missing many of the really high notes that Rob Halford hits on this song. I've seen him live, even recently, hitting those notes.

Halford is cleaner on the higher notes, yes, and he has that edge to his voice that everyone loves. However, I am pretty certain the actual pitch of the high notes is exactly the same, no higher or lower. Halford's falsetto throws you off but musically they sing the same note. Halford's notes just sound better, not higher.

Asami's vocals were off that day, as was the entire sound system. Don't judge them off of one concert. Check out their live videos from Japan and Wacken. It should change your mind.
