Not to forget the whole project is lead by riots head composer from the curse of the sad mummy era. I believe Vi's and Jinx's music videos were some of is first projects producing for riot. This whole thing is very much conceptualized like a music album as much as a show and a trilogy of movies. Christian Linke started out as a bit of a musical golden boy at riot, so the music is likely far from an afterthought even if the score is left to Mako to coordinate.

I think what's so powerful about this last scene where she's walking with the hextech weapon, is that Jinx isn't loud. Or boisterous, or her usual extra self. She's just: Hurt. Her mind is clear, she know's Vi isn't the enemy, the sister who made mistakes and would do anything to take them back. Or Silco, the father who tried his best to be there for her in every way he could despite his shortcomings. It was Piltover. The brutality of the enforcers, the ignorance of their people, and the neglect of the council. Her anger is direct and focused. And ultimately, justified. "Fuck the council." -Vi.

@@glendoi yeah what Jayce did at the council was to just make the other councilors agree that they will give Silco the nation of Zaun as soon as Silco is ready to give Jinx (which will never happen lol). I think many people forgot about Silco and Jayce's deal.

Maybe with silco dead Jinx would have been his heir and the new leader of Zaun so she would be protected through that like Silco was. With that shot Jinx destroyed all that possibiletys. I think thats the tragic. And if you see it like that the last scene is so much better.

@@alinac5512 that's what I like about this show. It leaves so much "what if" without making you say "why don't they just do this or that !?" Some might say "She Jinxed it once again.", or some might say "She did what Silco would've wanted to do". Either way, I think whatever people see the ending represents, is the best version of the ending for them 🥲😌

A couple of things: - Vi never used Jinx's new name. She kept calling her Powder. While definitely not intentional, Jinx seems to have interpreted that as Vi wanting her old self, not her new self. And frankly, that was probably true. Though due to lack of communication Vi never got the chance, because the last time she saw Powder she was still Powder, she never got to understand "Jinx". - To compound that Vi didn't know Jinx anymore, she tried to use the memory of Vander, Claggor, Mylo, and their parents to try and appeal to Jinx. In reality, those people were demons of her past that caused her intense mental agony. She didn't mean it, but she hurt Jinx with that, and drove the wedge between them even deeper. - An observation I've made: with Silco's final words, he said "you're perfect". Every other time he said "Jinx is perfect". I feel like there's significance to the change. Perhaps that he was saying regardless of who she chooses to be, she's perfect. - Mel's golden jewelry/tattoos glowed right before the attack. Perhaps they have a built-in shielding mechanism? Big enough to protect her, Jayce, and Viktor perhaps. They were seated near each other. But the rest of the council are toast for sure. Especially Caitlyn's mom, that's gonna create an all new tension between Vi and Caitlyn due to Jinx being responsible.

This is one of the best stated observations I have read. The first one about Jinx feeling that Vi didnt love her anymore is exactly how I interpreted it. ***Spoiler about your last theory*** . . . . Known: Caitlyn's mom has to live, unless they deviate drastically from the League lore. Theory: Mel was shown with an insignia that represents the Solari, so the best theory League players have is she is using a magic item called Locket of the Iron Solari, which produces a shield around her and her allies. This is the best theory out there at the moment as to how the council could survive; however, it directly contradicts "This city was built to escape the warmongering of mages." So, in a way, her use of a magic item within the council hall would be the metaphorical death of Piltover as it goes against the ethos that Piltover was built upon.

We know "what" happens, but not "how" and the way Arcane shows us is nothing short of amazing. I am very interesting in seeing the aftermath as well, but I am glad they ended where they did. Ending not knowing the destruction emphasizes that the story was building up to Jinx performing her action, not the result of the action. The result will be the focus of the next season, I think.

Leaving Mel, Jayce and Viktor conveniently alive while everyone else dies would be a disservice to the ending of that final episode. Real consequences are felt when the biggest characters are affected by it. Let's see if the showrunners have what it takes to have those consequences felt. Perhaps Mel tries to save Jayce and forgets Viktor. Or maybe Mel dies trying to save Jaycee and Viktor. That's what I would. At least one of those three has to be a goner, otherwise the plot armor would be thick as nails.

Mel's death would have more interesting plot potential, though (Mama Medarda would NOT be happy). Though Jayce's death could be interesting if it made Mel do a 180 and go full warmonger.

I think we see any chance of healing the Jinx/Vi relationship die the moment Silco dies in her arms, and you see her look change from frantic/crazy to calm and clear. The realization sets in that only Silco accepted her for who she is now(Jinx), and that Powder is not coming back just because Vi wants her to still be Powder.

Sometimes the lack of a reaction is more genuine than a reaction itself. I was in a similar space for the scene of Jinx firing that rocket as y'all, sort of a blank stare with water in my eyes. So many emotions going through my mind still leftover from the previous scene and amplified by the music. It's like my brain couldn't be bothered with the energy it takes to have a physical reaction; it was so caught up trying to process what was going on. Great stuff, guys. The "villain"?? 🙄 I don't stand for people calling him the "villain" of the story in comment sections, cuz the fact of the matter is: He was the "Monster" Piltover made him. Those "Topsiders" kept people living in poverty, filth, misery, toxic fumes & despair, for entire generations. And they STARTED the violence, by creating the Enforcer squad, to *keep* the people living like that, whether they wanted to or not... while they built their shiny mansions high up in the sky, and in the clean air, in luxury. I said it when I 1st watched the show, and I'll say it again: I'm #TeamSilco point blank period. 🤷🏻‍♀️😒 I'm #WeWillShowThemAll People refuse to see the bigger picture, cuz they worship Capitalism & the Police State too much in REAL life too. But even Jayce saw by the end, that Piltover had done the real evil, and didn't deserve to govern those people anymore. They had done nothing but use & exploit them. They're lucky Jinx only sent ONE rocket their way.

Jakes right that Vi never really got the chance to fight for her sister, but Jinx has seen enough from her demeanor, how she still calls her Powder, how she still tries to drill old, painful memories into her, that her sister will never be able to accept this version of herself. Right or wrong. So I agree with Nekko, the whole point is, Vi never had that opportunity to win her sister over, and probably never will. And thats not the fault of either of them, just simply a fact they will both have to live with.

THe Guts Theme made me tear up... Jinx is such a perfectly written character, like directly coming from a greek tradegy. Riot and Fortiche created a masterpiece, that will be remembered in 30 years onwards. All I wish for is, that they keep that quality in season 2 and somehow, even though I doubt it, give Jinx and Vi a Happy Ending.

For the point in 23:20, she didn't jinx the rocket, she jinxed Zaun's independence. Even though Silco wouldn't give her up, she ruined any possible chance for peace and negotiation. So in the end, she is still a Jinx.

What I really liked about the writing in this series is that the decisions made by characters make sense given their circumstances and their point of view but you can see how others would view it as well. Makes everything a lot more believable than just having characters who are completely good or completely bad.

I'm pretty sure the hex gem/crystal is still in Fishbones (the launcher) by where she puts it and how it lights up. It's used here as an energy source to boost the rocket's propulsion so it can reach Piltover, also referencing how her ultimate in-game has a global range.

That ending made me tear up too. In terms of what Jinx meant when she said that Vi "doesn't love her the way she used to," I think in this episode you really get to see that Vi is still stuck with wanting Powder back, and not being able to accept how she's changed into Jinx. She calls her Powder throughout the entire dinner table scene while Silco who accepts her for who she is calls her "jinx." Also, I believe the second season is already confirmed to continue in Piltover and Zaun, so no new story persay, but the league Universe is enormous and they have already started to branch out in the first season into Noxus (the nation Mel and her mother are from) which also has a ton of interesting plots, and characters :))

@@melina_0455 Yeah Vi's standpoint is completely understandable, but I don't think Jinx has to be defined by being murderous and violent or that she's at the point of no return, she just wants someone who can face the fact that she has changed and attempt to see things from her perspective as well. I think Jinx can still be guided towards some form of healing, but some compromise needs to be reached that doesn't feel one-sided from her perspective. She is just a traumatized kid after all :((

Jinx is so underrated, I mean she reversed engineered hextech in such short time and build her own creation on top of it from scrap and not some fancy unlimited materials. She build her own toys that even the upper people are amazed with...what did Vi do ? all she does is punch people and use upper people already build tech...Vi is the one stuck in the past, Jinx walks forward and wants to forget about the past. Sister could not understand this and was hurting Jinx with those memories of past. Also we gota agree that Jinx sooo easly goes in and out between cities...even to the top council peoples rooms that should have top-notch security. It's a great end to the season. I really loved the unexpected choice to rest the core Vi/Jinx story on that dinner scene. No over the top action or fight, just these characters talking to each other. Yet the tensions so thick you could cut the air with a knife. It's brutal in its own way as you want a happy ending for Vi and Jinx and it just becomes very clear you're not going to get one. For anyone. I am glad S2 is sticking with this though. Switching out to an entirely new story would pretty much be the end of the series right now. These are the characters and this is the place they've emotionally invested the audience in. Abandoning that for a whole new setting with all new characters right now just wouldn't work. Especially after this ending. What they can do, and what they seem to be doing, is introducing new factions and new places, like Mel's mother and the brewing conflict she talked about, gradually that will slowly expand the world outwards. Kinda like how early Game of Thrones gradually added more players and places to the board. I imagine S2 will probably wrap up the Vi/Jinx/Cait story in some manner and hopefully will focus on Vi and Cait as they've both been set up to be torn down. If S1 was Powder's collapse, S2 will probably be Vi's. The adrenaline of Act 2 and 3 wears off for her and she's forced to deal with all the baggage from being abused in prison for years on top of everything that just happened with Jinx. Cait meanwhile will probably have her fundamentally good nature challenged by what Jinx may have just done to her family. The kind of brutal reality Caits never even approached facing before given how protected and sheltered shes been. Ekko and Heimer would serve as a good second focal pair in S2 i think, a kind of parallel to what Jayce and Viktor were in S1. I imagine Viktor and Jayce will take a step back as that story continues to develop and may spill over into a potential S3 if we do get more seasons. The Hexcore seems like a plot element meant to play out over a larger time line.

I loved that after Silco got shot by Jinx. Even in his final moments Silco didn’t feel betrayed or hatred towards Jinx. Instead he says “Don’t cry, your perfect”. That had me tearing up

Next season will likely be a combination of continuation and new. On the re-watch, pay attention to ALL the veiled story Mel’s mom alludes to. She’s from another (major) region called Noxus, and there’s PLENTY of character story to develop. I’m betting we see continuation of this story & characters, plus adding Noxus (and those characters) taking advantage of the (Jinx-induced) instability in Piltover.

It's kind of crazy how for those of us who knew exactly where these characters would end up*, many (myself included) still got completely taken in by the story and were shocked when she sat down on the "Jinx" chair. Kind of have to take a step back and go "oh yeah, well duh, she's Jinx, of course." That's how well they wrote the show to immerse the audience that we forgot what we already know. Same with the head on the platter for Cait. I was so tense, even though a second later I was like "wait why am I scared, she's literally a champion in the game." *unless they're going to treat Arcane like the MCU and start deviating from the game lore/comic, meaning they'll start killing off champions.

My prediction for the final council scene - I think since Viktor is now 'linked' to his sentient Hexcore it will respond to him when he is in danger and it will either reflexively shield him and Jayce or maybe teleport them, since Jayce is stood almost shoulder to shoulder with Viktor in the council meeting. I think they will make it out alive, but I reckon the whole Council will be wiped out.

S2 Will shift the main focus from Jinx becoming to Caitlyn hunting Jinx, she made up her mind and she is going to hunt her down, Vi will try to get in the way but fail, of course, it's Vi after all, but she could succeed in allowing Jinx to survive and going to prison (and maybe break out at the end?), cause so far, we have not seen Cait getting serious, like actually serious. It's time for them to Show us how Caitlyn became... who players know her as... if you know, you know, i you don't, no spoilers. Anyway my guess is, catching Jinx will be the main theme for securing Peace. What role Heimerdinger is going to play in this, i have no idea, same for Ekko. Viktor making his development will be the second storyline obviously, how Jayce will fit into all of this, depends entirely on who survives, i think.

Great reaction series. All the individual pieces of the series are top notch, animation, voice acting, music. But what I think what really sets this apart from the majority of series (animated or otherwise) for me is that almost every character has agency. All of the characters are constantly making decisions that have real consequences both intended and unintended on other characters and the overall story.

I think what sticks out to me is the line in the intro song "I'll never be insane" because Jinx didn't go insane it's just the way she was and she accepted it.

Ah the dinner scene, I think a lot we were scared for Caitlyn (plus it's my favorite of the series), all the more reason when you think of Jinx as a Joker / Harley Quinn and that the Joker has already kidnapped the whole bat family to serve their faces on a plate (false face but the effect was there). Anyway, I said you weren't ready for the last two episodes ^^ Sevika against Vi was classy too. Besides, about Sevika, I come back to a time when you wondered what had happened to the Doctor's daughter, seeing that Sevika also spoke about a problem with her father, and that when the doctor spoke of his daughter , the scene just after zooming in on Sevika, for me Sevika is the doctor's daughter. After that I don't know LoL's lore so I could be wrong, but the series insinuates that I think.

I don't know if it's intentional but is it just me or does Silco's character design looks less pale and "evil" whenever he connects with Jinx? Silco's character seems to look more human when he's with Jinx, kinda symbolic. Idk it's probably my eyes.

i wouldn't put it pass the animators, we've seen a lot of facial "difference" for charactesr in different scenarios: 1. People when fighting have a very ugly face - jinx, jayce 2. When jinx re-united with vi , her face was childish and very "smooth" , more resemblance of powder I think it shows and it's realistic i guess? we do have different "looks" with different people

Just and FYI about Vi and Jinx reconciling; in the game and lore Vi and Jinx are mortal enemies. Vi's and Enforcer who works with Kate, Jinx is terrorizes Piltover. Until Arcane there's nothing about them being sisters but Arcane is a prequel so it explains why Jinx wants nothing more than to torment Vi and Vi wants nothing more than catch Jinx. Jinx is always leaving messages taunting Vi.

When I woke up 6 hours early to watch this when it aired, if I had been filmed everyone would have thought I was highly autistic. They would have seen a grown man rocking back and forth saying "Nonononononononon wtf nononononononononononononono". BTW rewatching it hurts just as much, if not more.

Not everything can be fixed. Sometimes it's too big, sometimes there's nothing left. In the case of Jinx and Vi, it's a little of both. . Jinx's disorders are far beyond any kind of treatment, even in our world. There'd be nothing to do but lock her up, or otherwise keep her under constant supervision, and often thoroughly sedated. She cannot be fixed...not ever...especially not in their world. All that's left of Powder is what Jinx believes about her. Jinx doesn't really remember any of it, she just knows what she's supposed to remember, she knows what Powder went through, but doesn't really have them as memories...she detached them, segregated them. . That's why we see, when Vi is yelling names at her, these monsters keep growing and getting more aggressive, while Jinx shrinks and stumbles, finally falling to the ground. Everything Vi cherishes, is a poison to Jinx. . Vi will never love Jinx. She will always love Powder, and she will always believe Jinx really is Powder. But, Jinx isn't powder. And the worst of it, is that Jinx says Vi changed too...but the truth is that she really didn't, and that's the actual problem. Vi won't move on. If Vi could really change, then she'd maybe learn to accept Jinx, and stop trying to turn her back into Powder. But she can't, and she's stuck in the past. It still wouldn't matter, because Jinx can't be allowed to go free, and has no hope of ever being someone who can safely exist in society, but at least maybe she'd have something in the world.

I think it's not for nothing that JInx's line to Vi, "You changed too", is superposed with an image of Caitlyn, after she said "even though I'm different.", with a cut to Silco. It's perhaps because Jinx says what separates them is that they have grown to love and be loved by people standing on opposite sides, relationships that they can't accept about the other.

It's a bit frustrating when Vi doesn't try to stop jinx in the end, but I think that just highlights her biggest character flaw, she can only really react to situations with violence

I honsetly cant relate how "normal" people feel about jinx, I saw some other reactors that cant relate with her at all, but the ending always makes me tear up I feel for jinx so much and can relate so much, idc if its good or bad, I love her and hope that she gets what she wants in the end.

Based on one of the reliable resources, the second season was already done since last year. They will just need to do some polishing before releasing it. Riot did not expect this positive feedbacks. It was their first animated show series. We might get the next season on 2023.

Schnee made a video that really showcases that this was a perfect ending, and not actually the cliffhanger that we thought it was. In that the ACT of Jinx pressing the trigger is what matters. The ending was perfect. It allows everyone to try and imagine what happens, did it blow up the building and kill everyone, did some die and some were just injured, or did it just go through the window and crash and nothing happened, maybe jinx made it to where it was just a dud and it left a note, maybe she just wanted to send a message saying hey I can kill you all if I want so shape up, she didn't know they voted for peace, maybe she doesn't care about that, trauma and mental issues can make you not think clearly and overreact, who knows what happens, you can think of hundreds of possibilities. Nobody hated the ending, everyone is just sad when a great show ends and have to wait a while for more, that is a million times better than shows that are crap but they are like hey this is shit but at least we put a new episode out everyday! We all got an amazing early christmas gift, be grateful!
