I loved this scene as well, but for me it's more heartbreaking, from the moment he took her into his care, he became her father, the one person who was there for her when she needed someone. In turn he grew to love and care for Jinx, and in the end when it came down to getting everything he wanted in return for her given over to Piltover, he tried to claim he was the one responsible that he was the one who told her what to do and when it came down to it Silco could never give his daughter to Jayce and Piltover. During the aftermath of beating Cait, and Vi mentioning her past, you could see the trauma she went through destroyed her memories of them, turning them into monsters, Silco only tried to get Vi to stop, because ultimately she was hurting Jinx, which led in the end to his death byJinx, and his final words were beautiful and perfect and something she needed to hear.

Like others have said before, I play LoL So I kinda had a feeling that Cait was fine. But they even had me going for that scene. When they revealed I honestly laughed, that shit was a hilarious misdirection. Obviously a serious moment, but if they didn't put that in there this episode would've been a bit much without that ounce of relief.

First 3.5 episodes I was convinced the 2 boys will be main characters with Vi and Jinx so I was a little bit intrequed how they handle this.

@@anhkietduongdo if u think about what the final arc was really about and what was happening u would realize that the resolution was the act of pulling that trigger performing an act that u can never take back. They wanted u to focus on the actual action itself rather than the results of said actions. If the explosion happened and u saw who died 1. You would focus on that rather than jinx herself. 2. It would remove that sense of speechlessness that I garentee u had as u were watching the final scene. For those reasons it really isnt a cliffhanger. Also my idea of a cliffhanger is leaving off at an area of interpretation. You as the watcher truly do not know what is going to happen. You are in the dark. Which also isn't what happens here. We know what happens. The rocket hits the building. Chaos issues. Etc. And that is why they did what they did and ended it like they did. They wanted u to focus on powder truly dying and jinx being solidified through this single horrible act that she can never take back rather than the chaos that resulted from said act.

I'm surprised how many people misunderstood the line (or seemed to) "is there anything so undoing as a daughter?" Silco is literally saying, right there, that his love for Jinx is more important to him than his life-long dream of having his nation of Zaun. More importantly, he is saying it where he believes no one can hear him... so he's not trying to manipulate anyone with his remarks.

Jayce's hammer made shields too. It seems to be a property intrinsic to Hextech devices, that they can manipulate arcane energy into a momentary shield. That at least seems to be the implication, or at the very least it seems to be true with Hextech that Jayce specifically creates. I understand it was a game reference, but the explanation in the narrative seems to be consistent.

An observation I made: Jinx's missile hits right as the Council has agreed to grant the Undercity their independence. She jinxes their freedom. As she does everything. Poetic.

Jinx did not "jinxed" their freedom. Even if the Council agreed with Jayce, Silco would not have given up Jinx in exchange to have the Nation of Zaun, there was never going to be peace. Silco finally understood what Vander experienced when he was talking with Vander's statue, having daughters. Vander did not gave up Vi and Jinx, and that's what Silco's going to do, never giving up Jinx to Piltover.

THERE WAS NEVER going to be peace... WAR is coming from the other countries already, the vote was just a "UN Resolution" amongst friends playing at concession. This is more like recent World events - Isreal & namely Gaza... not too long ago (2021) to get Netanyahu & is party out of power politicians from ALL OVER the spectrum formed a coalition, in the process elevating even Palestinian party representatives and seize fires all around, until... well, it worked out didn't it? In the end it was kinda Jayce who ultimately, unintentionally jinxed it. If he had known just how adverse Silco would be to handing Jinx over no matter what then I doubt he would have persisted on having her handed over in exchange. Another person who ironically jinxed it was Vi herself... the only reason Jayce even knew that Jinx was behind the bombs and all the inventions was because she sold her out in front of the entire council. It's great writing but so many people had a hand in this final "jinx".

When a villain does horrible things, but has trauma that explains why they acted the way they did, they behave as though that character can avoid personal accountability. Not all the time, but most. I mean for fucks sake in the finale she displays an amount of self awareness seldom found is these types of characters. "I'm not that crazy". She knows she's done fucked up things. Sadly was only nominated twice and thats it. But it got 9 Annie nominations and won every single category it got nominated to. Regardless It's truly a masterpiece, never been such a clear cut statement. Nothing screams masterpiece harder than arcane. I hope to the dear lord that season 2 is not rushed by the higher ups and the show gets the time it needs to be ready. With Warwick seemingly being teased in the season 2 teaser, I think we are for a hell of a season 2. The wrath of zaun is about to be let loose. Extra note: Season 1 took 6 years to make and the quality shows it. They have all the tools and assets build already now though, so I think we can expect season 2 to drop late 2023 or early 2024, without the writing being rushed.

It really says a lot with how they make you think Caitlyn might have been killed by Jinx. Cait is a major character from the game and clearly has a character arc that she hasn't finished yet so should have major plot armor. Despite that the writing was so good that for minute they make you think she might be dead. Being able to pull that off is a top tier example of why this show is so good. Also answer the question, yes Jinx you are that crazy.

A lot of us watching the show (including many of these reactors I bet) knew nothing about LoL (I only discovered that some of the characters in the show were playable when I googled the game afterwards), and because this show did the thing of killing major characters early on, it primed you to expect major deaths in the finale as well. That said, I didn't believe Jinx would do that, I kinda knew she was messing.

I thought it was kinda sad when right after Jinx killed Silco everyone was like "she chose her sister" only for them to all realize killing Silco cemented her into Jinx. She loved Silco as a father and for his last words to be reassurance to her that he wasn't mad at her and that he loved her more than Zaun and that she, the broken, chaotic, semi psychotic person she was, was perfect to him. In that moment the last ember of Powder died and Jinx decided to burn the world for her grief and for Silco's cause.

The thing is Jinx didn’t choose Vi. Killing Silco was a mistake, just like killing Vander and her brothers were a mistake. She was having an episode and Vi was making it worse by screaming for her to remember her past (Mylo, Claggor, etc) which was a major source of her trauma. Silco saw this and was screaming for Vi to shut up. Silco grabbed the gun and the sound triggered Jinx’s violent reaction. Vi couldn’t give up on trying to get Powder back but there’s no going back for Jinx even if she wanted to. Silco was the only one to never blame her for any of her mistakes even when it killed him.

I love the looks of admiration from these reactors throughout this finale. They really understood, like all of us, how beautiful of a story this was and understood the weight of all these characters and their personalities, suffering, and the choices they had to make. I'm a screenwriter, and this single season of Arcane has taught me more about good storytelling, writing, characterization, and pacing than literally anything else I've ever watched. This is hands down the most masterfully crafted season of television I have ever seen, and even if season 2 isn't as good (though I doubt that), at least we got this.

This is a completely out-of-the-left-field suggestion, and it might turn out to be not your type of entertainment, but try "The Leftovers". It's different (a live action series, for one!), but it shares some key artistic sensibilities with Arcane and is absolutely one of the most profound media one can watch. Bojack Horseman is also up there with Arcane, even if it's a very different sort of tragedy (don't be fooled by a somewhat shallow if enjoyable season 1, the story escalates hard from there)

Something that kind of goes overlooked in this amazing episode - after Vi's fight with Saveka @19:47, she drops to her knees and let's out this primal scream, almost identical to the one she released when Vander died. It's not played up much, but Saveka was her idol, literally everything she wanted to grow up and be when she was a child - the relentless freedom fighter who refused to show weakness. When Saveka 'rebelled' against Vander's leadership was the same time Vi started questioning him on his bravery and dedication ("When did you get so comfortable living in someone's shadow?"). Vi didn't just meet her hero, she was basically forced to beat her to death. This is so significant for her character on so many levels. In their own way, Vi and Silco's journey was similar, both finally learning that Vander was right all along. This show is unreal.

Do you really not see Vi initially following the exact same trajectory as Sevika, and do you really think she didn't know all about her at the time? That's why she took her betrayal of Vander so personally and why she went after her first the moment she got back into the Lanes.

I don't think that's why she screamed. When you think about it, Sevika is like an anti Vi. Everything she's good at, Vi isn't. Vi isn't good at following orders, she isn't good at keeping those she cares about safe, she isn't able to fully commit to the cause. I think that's when Vi realized all of that and it just came crashing down. This wasn't really a victory for Vi.

"we'll show them. we will show them all." is the full circle of powder finally becoming jinx. she didnt choose vi. she realized that vi can't accept her for who she became. vi doesn't understand or even know her anymore. vi kept saying mylo and everyone elses names which only made her worse in that moment. meanwhile silco is just so desperate to shut vi up. because of all people, he knows and understand jinx's trauma. jinx talk about it to no one else but silco. silco knows that vi needs to shut up because she is making jinx more confused. he is so desperate hence the gun. throughout the series, jinx always treats unfamiliar sound as a threat to her and always just points her gun to the source of the sound on instinct. so when she heard silco with the gun, she acted on instinct. not out of choosing vi. in silco's dying breath he told jinx that she is perfect. this is what made up jinx's mind to accept herself as jinx. vi doesn't want to be with who she is now. vi only wants to be with the old her (cant blame vi on this) and forcing her to be powder again and remember everything which only hurt and tortured her. meanwhile silco is just so accepting for who she is even to his dying breath and the fact that she shot him. realising this, jinx finally told vi, "i thought that maybe you could love me like you used to. even though im DIFFERENT. but you changed too." the realization that vi will not be able to love her because she is different now is abandonment the second time around. and this time she killed an important person to her again. and finally turning her back on vi and shooting the council while hearing silco say "we will show them all" with those same teary, broken, raged eyes like her young self that night when he adopted her is the full circle.

He is so fixed in project himself on Jinx that never got her trauma is totally different to his and passed years screwing her mind to colapse. You are both correct in your separate regards. Yes, governments often fail to do good till it's too late, that being said terrorism is literally never the answer. All you do is provoke the governing body and make it easier for them to shut you out completely and they can use everything they have in their arsenal to remove you. Take for example the Hamas vs Israel situation, Palestine should have been a separate state for a long time now and Hamas earned enough support to fight for that goal, but in the process they committed absolute atrocities that can never be forgiven and Israel will use that to enact vengeance and keep palestine under martial law for a long, long time

When Arcane was first announced, I generally thought that the major thing people will like about it is the amazing animation style but the story will be 'meh' yet the huge league lore fans, like me, would enjoy it. So when it was not only f*cking amazing from both an animation and storytelling standpoint, I was beyond happy. Especially when I see people who probably never even played the MOBA or anything relating to League fall in love with the characters. So after that big finale and knowing that I would probably have to wait for 2023 at the soonest for S2, seeing those people who don't know anything about the characters yet watching them react and even get psyched and freaked out because they don't know anything about the game has been a joy. So thanks for doing this series and I hope to see you do Arcane season 2.

I think its very telling just how good this show was with Powder's inevitable fall to Jinx. Despite a lot of the people reacting, trying to suggest that Powder can still come back from what was happening to her as thats what they want. Every one of them genuinely beleived that there was a possibility that she had cut Caitlyns head off and put it under the silver platter. That despite everyone wanting it to be otherwise, they fully believed she was capable and willing to do something that horrifying. It just one little thing on top of everything that really lets you get sucked into how Vi feels and how soul crushing it is for her and for the audience to have to accept that Powder is gone. The playful little sister truly has changed.

I just love how Vi went back into the undercity alone to tear down the most powerful criminal organization (that we know of) to save her sister from them. She started by taking on Sevika, their top general essentially, and was then going for the head of the snake Silco. And she would have found and killed him, imo. If Jynx hadn't found him, then her first.

Sad part is most of them didn't noticed the sweet touch that Jinx had for Silco. Fishbones was made for him, she made it look like one of his favorite things. Also gave in detail the scars, and eye exactly like him too. Like wow, that made me tear up even more after his goodbye to his daughter. Probably one of the reasons why she's shedding a tear and hearing those words he told her that night when they first met.

The symbolism in this episode was on fire, the tea party was her practically laying out her mental state for Vi and Silco to see and the chairs represent her two lives. She is torn between the two because Vi wants Powder and Silco wants Jinx, she loves them both and they both love her. Vi and Silco are basically the devil and angel on her shoulder. It was insane just how much symbolism lies in this scene, and for the most part its all direct. Poor Jinx/Powder though man 😭

I never liked Silco for what he has done to others, but to Jinx he was a father. He loved her and tolerated her so when I saw that scene of him saying 'I never would've given you to them. Not to anyone' before dying touches my heart. Although not alot would like it but in this series Silco is my favourite.

When people talk about her choosing the Jinx chair it's the same misunderstanding that Vi has which is why it's tragic. There is no choice here, Jinx is WHO SHE IS and who she has ALWAYS BEEN. Vi doesn't really see her sister, she sees and loves the idealized version of her sister and wants that back. Jinx has simply grown up and become more confident in herself but if you re-watch the series the signs of who she would become were there even when she was running around as "Powder". Jinx has had a lot of trauma in her life with a lot of loss, and people not seeing the real her and belittling her only compounds on her issues of trust and feelings of isolation. It's like she says to Vi that she had hoped Vi could love her even though she had changed but it was obvious she couldn't. Vi wanted her helpless little sister back that needed saving all the time as that is who she loved rather than seeing Jinx had grown up and no longer needed anyone's protection but instead just needed a friend and sister to be there and support her. Instead Vi wanted to swoop in as the Hero and kept treating Jinx as a helpless little girl in need of saving. Meanwhile Jinx sees Vi having a relationship of equals with Caitlyn and is jealous because that's what she wants with her sister but her sister refuses to acknowledge her as an equal. This refusal to acknowledge who someone truly is, is what makes it so tragic as even many of the viewers see Jinx the same way as Vi. They want to see Vi "save" her sister, but there is no going back to the quite helpless days of powder. The only saving for Jinx is through care and acceptance so she can move past her trauma. Vi is basically out on parol and Jinx has been living the criminal life, even as kids they got up to some illegal activities that's how the whole thing got started. They aren't gonna settle down in some remote country house and live a happy peaceful life. They are both criminals with practical no money to their name and if Vi flees she's basically an escaped prisoner so odds of them getting honest work is slim, heck it's hard enough getting honest work if they stay as just look at all the poor people in the city. When it comes down to it though the most important question of all is never ask by Vi, "What do you want Jinx/Powder?"

there was so much to unbox just from the dinner scene. Jinx bringing a cupcake instead of Caitlyn's head(Vi's nickname for her), the raven feathers around the jinx chair, the lyrics at the end of the song "what could have been" just before Jinx "Jinxed" it again as her rocket hits the glass. the art work for the smiling face as the rocket cracks the glass. This series was epic and i have hated waiting so long for season 2 and still no word or teasers for the 2nd season its just arghhhh

I actually didn't think of that finale as much as a cliffhanger, it felt perfect for me.. But thankfully they confirmed there gonna be later seasons and the second season gonna wrap up the piltover/zaun or vi/jinx story and they will moves on with other places and characters to explore. And i think it definitely the right decision. This story is a goddamn perfect beautiful masterpiece and sometimes things better to left when it's in its great shape.. I mean look at Jurassic park or transformers or even pirates of caribbean, they are a mess now when their first couple movies or full trilogy was great. I mean i would still watch vi and jinx for straight 12 seasons but like i said. So yeah, i'm fuckin excited they will give the proper ending for the story where also not being too long or too short. Just about the perfect amount

I am blatantly and unapologetically obsessed with this fucking show. I have no idea how many dozens of times I have watched it. I have also watched almost every decent reaction channel. I have watched it with TBSkyen's commentary at least three times.........I don't even know how many times I have watched this particular playlist.
