You know what'll be (more) terrifying in this game? A mimic, that imitates the voices of your teammate. Like, the game records the communication between people, and the monster plays back what he heard, but not perfectly. There can be change of pitch, slight distortion etc... Juste enough to make you guess if it's legit or not. Of course, it would have to be active when the teammates are separated.

I was thinking of something like that but it'll actually take the form of whoever it kills and just slowly walks towards you until it's near you using your friends voice just a random tidbit of it
