The Habs are often setting the pace of the game, these last few games. They seem to have also learned that there will be flurries from the other team and are weathering the storm until they can set the pace once again. Once Slaf's forecheck timing comes back, this will be scary. Impressive!

I think Laine has pushed the young players to a higher level and taught them how to play hockey. His back passes have inspired other players. The game has become faster and better.

Even if we don't make the playoffs this year. With Demidov coming next year and probably a signing ot 2 in fa I think the Habs got a good shot next year. We're not rushing it either. I'm very happy with how this rebuild has went and I believe we will be a threat for a decade

I got a couple things to say. 1. After the first period I thought this was gonna go back to the old Habs way of going down and losing the mental game but NO they rallied back big time and played a great second half of the game. 2. GIVE MONTY THE VEZINNA holy cow he looked great today he made some huge saves! 3. I love caufield but wow heinaman might be my new favorite player. Even before he scored the tying goal he looked so good he is so strong on the ice and plays with so much energy I am so happy we have him and he is playing well. And 4. I really thought slaf was gonna score today he played really well and he had a couple really good chances

The thing about Laine is that it's not just that he's a sniper, it's that the other team panics and he draws many players to himself, which means the other players are freed up to show their stuff. Laine doesn't score? Who cares, Dach and Newhook are able to take opportunity that the other teams are scared shitless of Laine.

I wrote them off. I did, after they went down 2-0. Can't tell you how chuffed I am with the win though. And this beautiful 4th line is gonna get blown up. Army (let go as a UFA), Evans (traded). I am such a damn happy Habs fan today. What great Christmas and New Year gifts to us from The Habs. They are finally loving us back. GHG.

Hey guys, happy getting to be "in the mix" year to everyone ! It feels like our dear Habs are now improved in pretty much all key aspects we wanted to see in this year of still fairly early but yet much more advanced rebuild : more consistency in overall performance, especially in the second one of back-to-back games, more cohesion/stability in defense (Alex Carrier, what a trade), more balanced & productive 2nd, 3rd & 4th line vs the first, vast improvement on PP, addition of talented here-to-stay rookies, solid high-level goaltending, capacity to come back from or maintain advance under dominant pressure... It's amazing.
@rpclipgang52273 күн бұрын
Laine + Carrier and the other guys getting a smile on their face has brought this team to a top tier team, trust! There is something brewing, these guys WANTS to play with each other.. they want to find each other and they know, if we just have fun and play, we can beat anyone. Doesn't seem to be any drama in the team, and people are confident with all the pieces together

Happy New Year Josh Jesse and all Habs fans. Went to sat game vs Fla. that was impressive until they followed that up with a dominant win vs Tampa Bay and then they come through today after falling behind 2-0. Really exciting time. Carrier an absolute steal, we might have a backup goalie we can trust, Anderson just causing chaos every shift with size speed and hustle, 4th line kicking ass. Don’t stop now boys!
@stephaneferron53173 күн бұрын
I thought they would get butchered 3 games in a row! Wow , first time I see 4 lines with chemistry since 1993. I’ve been watching the habs for 40 years , rarely miss a game and the habs have been predictable for 35 years , predictable when they were good or bad but now, they have no complex and after watching a submissive team for 30 years they’re becoming the aggressor All the vets are being reinvented , , Anderson , Armia , dvorak and Gallagher are playing hard but I think the biggest difference is , carrier, Laine and Hutson allow our debt players to overpower the oppositions depth players . It’s gonna be interesting next year, the habs have a lot of depth , lots of prospects with no room to move up, maybe Hugues will start trading prospects for well established players , cause as it stand , don’t think there will be room for all our prospects to get a chance and looks like Emil is here to stay

Dach was wearing the goat horns at the beginning of the the game with that giveaway, then redeems himself by scoring the game winning goal. He should practice his positioning for shooting/chipping when close to the goalie more and avoid the blind passes up the middle.

I've seen enough in the last week, Montreal is taking the cup in 2025 (never mind, it's New Year's Eve in Russia and I'm drunk) my God, this is exactly what I want from the first line. Slaf fights for the puck and wins it, then Suzuki works, and cole finishes. The 4 line is the fucking best in the entire NHL, the second line has started to wake up. If this is my delusional dream, then don't wake me up. If I had been told in November that Montreal would win three games in a row against the Panthers, Tampa and Vegas, I would have asked, "What drugs are you on right now?" Let's go, my boys, and happy New Year to everyone!

Have said it for awhile...if they play to their potential (a big "IF" sometimes) and keep the stupid errors (for example, lose pucks in their own end without pressure) and stupid penalties to a minimum, they are a team with a winning record: they can consistently beat the teams they ought to, beat the teams on their level more often than not and draw even with the elite teams. In essence, a playoff bound team to be sure and maybe even capable of a deep run in a couple of years. The key, I believe, is intelligent, intense defense at all times as an attainable goal. With what appears to be a solid backup goalie just up from the minors - Dobes - and a likewise inspired Monty there is no reason, barring major injuries, this can't happen.

Dach and Laine still not completely up to par. Dach backhanded pass to Vegas player in offensive zone started the sequence for the first goal against. Then Laine with 15 seconds left in the period gets bumped off the puck that leads to the second goal against. A rule you should not break. Giving up the puck when you have control of if against the board with seconds left in the period. I noticed for his size he is easily removed of the puck

MTL loose a few games in a row , fans = they suck, fire st-louis, trade everyone. MTL wins a few games in a row, fans = the cup is near, all players are the best. Lets remember this feeling when they start loosing again… they are still a very very young team and definitely not ready for playoffs. Lets try to keep expectations low and be happy if they exceed them. Next year, Add Demidov, hage, Reinbacher, eventually, Fowler, and let them mature a bit, 3-5 years from now they will be winning way more than loosing. I am still hoping for a good draft pick this year to add to the depth before they start to be in the playoffs. Worst scenario this year is missing the playoffs by a few points, or barely making them, because you dont get a good draft pick and they probably wont make it far anyway in the playoffs.
