Such a great song. You pick the best DooWop Romello. Thank you, and Harri for the reaction.

As you noted, Marvin Gaye was a part of this group for awhile, and this experience (plus his love for doo wop) led him to work with the Motown group The Originals. They had two big harmony soul hits, "The Bells" and "Baby I'm For Real," both co-written and produced by Gaye, and both heavily doo wop influenced. They are definitely worth a listen. (You've already reacted to the Originals' disco hit "Down To Love Town.")

Harri...you are looking for Harvey (Fuqua) and the New Moonglows. Their 1959 single 'Mama Loocie' featured Lead vocals by Marvin Gaye.

I got into "Doo Wop" music in the 70's, rather than Disco. My Dad had a few collections on 33LP. I later got him a multi-CD set that we'd listen to like driving on road-trips. Harmony and vibe!!

Thank you. I had no idea that Marvin Gaye was a part of this group.

I share your love for doo-wop. I blame the American Graffiti soundtrack which my dad played after lights-out on camping trips.

Harry--Am 82 years old, yet have nothing against long hair on men; but , in my opinion, short hair better shows you're one handsome guy .

I love this era of music. The Moonglows were another great R&B doo-wop group from the 50's. They had some other hits such as "Ten Commandments Of Love", "Please Send Me Someone To Love", "Most Of All", "We Go Together", "See Saw" etc.
