This beautiful girl is 25 years old , she has competed professionally all her life , sadly she had found herself waiting to go to Italy 🇮🇹 and destined for the meat trade. We are so happy to tell you that we have secured her future, and she is now retired at home with us.

Our consumer choices for our food purchases can help change the lives of animals, reducing the need for slaughter. It is hard to imagine how anyone could slaughter horses. They are such graceful, elegant beings. Looking into their eyes there is so much beauty and benevolence. You can see why so many alternate practices use horses as healing assistants. They are very intuitive as lots of other animals are. She is a beautiful horse. Thank you for saving her.

Wow, she is a beauty! 🤩Why would anyone with a heart want to sell her for slaughter for dog food or whatever they do with their meat? You do what you do with a labour of love. Thank God for people like you. There needs to be a law passed all around the world regarding these horses to not allow this in humanity.💕🌈🇨🇦 The onus lies with the first original owner it is their responsibility to keep them and take care of them and not discard them and sell them after they’re not longer useful to them. They are not machines A very wasteful society and we are all reaping its effects for it does effect everyone in the long run.

This mare is so lucky to be there with your family..she is looking good for 25 years! You can tell with her beautiful still-athletic looks, she was well cared for in previous years. We would love to know her story, Nick...(does she have a chip by any chance?) Thank you 💛 for saving her from that atrocious abatoir!! If I could abolish every one of those horrific places off the face of this Earth....🤦 Why do humans want to consume horse meat??!! It's like cannibalism really. It's illegal here in the States, but of course, the meat buyers always find ways to buy healthy horses and transport across borders to Mexico & Canada. 😣

@@altheaaurielrishworth6349 It's still disgusting. Here in the US the horse meat trade is still going on, even with the illegal aspects. The race tracks think it's a by-product of their 'disposable' horses business, and sadly thousands of young horses make their way down the tubes of the slaughter pipeline, bound for death in Mexico, Canada, Japan. The requirements.. must be at least 6 mo. old, able to walk, and have at least one eye to see. It's about the big money of course, and the perverted tastes of alot of humans, very much including Western Europe, the UK, Belgium and France, and Japan to name a few. Horses are still considered "cattle" in many places, more's the pity.

Horse Plus Humane Society is a non profit rescue group in Tennessee, US . They save horses from the slaughter pipeline all across the country and help out some International rescue organizations as well. They saved over 1,440 horses this year so far and they have vets who come to the farm to give treatment , vaccines and tests to any animals who need it. Then once they are ready people can apply to adopt, they have an in-depth investigation that the people are trustworthy, have the facilities and the training to look after the horses. They also rescue some other animals as well and the same process goes for them. If an animal doesn’t work out they are contracted to have to return them to the rescue farm. Just thought you may be interested to see what they do, there are some pretty sad stories there as well😢 but lots of happy endings too. 🙋🏼‍♀️🥰
